I'm so happy I'm finally able to log in and check the place out. It's nice to see so many familiar names. I won't have to spend a lot of time getting aquainted with everyone so most of us already know each other. At any rate, I'm glad to be participating and this seems to be a good forum to up my post count :hyper:

A gator but not the gator :hyper:
I remember how I used to get you and gator mixed up, until I finally figured out gator is a Seminole.
Anyway.
Was it gator, or was it you, who wrote that fantastic rant, maybe almost three years ago, about going to church and the minister there was talking about.....sports, as if southerners were interested only in sports, and not the higher things in life?

It must have been him. The Rector at my church rarely mentions sports.

What took you so long? :cheersmate:

Good to see ya! Welcome!

It must have been him. The Rector at my church rarely mentions sports.
If I recall correctly, it was a fine sunny day down there in Florida, the day that most remarkable and illuminating rant was posted.
The minister was from New Jersey or something, visiting down south, and took the service for the regular minister.
It was an Episcopalian or Lutheran service; whoever of you two had posted it, was a native southerner, but the wife was from the northeast, and the poster had converted to what is generally a "northern" denomination because of her.

I'm Episcopalian and not married. Gator is Lutheran and married so it must have been him. My ex was Catholic but we rarely attended mass. I didn't become a Christian until long after my divorce.
