Post by: Splashdown on July 26, 2010, 03:40:24 PM
I've tried a new adaptor, and it still spits it out. Fixable?

:thatsright:  Sometimes, if you have a portable Satellite Radio thingy you need a tape deck adaptor thingy to make it work in another car.

Splashdown, I had that problem when I wanted to use my boyfriend's XM for a road trip.  Couldn't figure out how to make it not eject, so it was a too bad, so sad issue for me.  Which was made even worse, by the fact that my CD player didn't work either.

Do regular tapes work?  I'm guessing by your post that this is only happening to the adapter(s)?

Kinda hard to tell if it's the adapters or if its doing it to all tapes, then.

My factory service manual (I think) has a section on repairing the cassette player.  I'll see if I can track it down.

More than likely, the center spindles in the adapter are not turning. Check to see if they exist and if they do, that they are turning freely. If not, trying to free them up. If no center spindles, then check to make sure it's fully loading and not off center or otherwise not seated properly. I would also recommend that you find, borrow or buy a blank cassette tape and see what happens with that. Many cassette tape players will eject the tape when they reach the end of the tape and the spindles stop turning UNLESS they have an auto reverse system.

Yeah, I'm old school.......... what of it?!?!?!?!?  :fuelfire:
