No one over 50 should be allowed to vote on climate change.
Edited on Mon Jul-26-10 01:47 PM by Radical Activist
Let's face it, most of the Senate gerontocracy won't be around to experience the worst impacts of climate change.
They share that in common with all the media pundits who keep telling us that a climate change bill won't pass. And aren't they making it a self-fulfilling prophecy by establishing a conventional wisdom? Why don't I see young people on cable news talking about climate change? I think some of the older pundits can't wrap their head around the issues because it's nothing like what they're used to dealing with. They don't understand that the consequences of delaying action on climate change are far greater than delaying on the other issues they've dealt with before.
But the real culprit is the US Senate and all the conservative industry whores who occupy what should be a position of public service. They won't be around when it's obvious to EVERYONE how wrong they were. They won't be around when everyone realizes that their subservience coal and oil was an act of slowly tying the noose for the destruction of many communities and lives.
Does one generation have the right to issue a death sentence on future generations? That's what the US Senate is doing right now, and several conservative Democrats share the blame.

That's right only if we tax the hell out of everyone will the planet survive. :mental:

1. While I am under 50, does that mean those like me should not vote on SSI? NT
Yep

I hope the right people are keeping track of this gigantic DUmor. My God...

This is actually a great proposal. It would disqualify practically every Senator and most Representatives from voting on it.
-
Well, that WOULD prevent it ever getting out of the Senate, except being Dems they'd pull some crooked bullshit like voting to 'Deem it passed' without actually voting the bill.
But if our pocket Stalinists want to go that way with it, realistically it probably makes even more sense to say nobody under 30 should be allowed to vote on it, since so few of them have a honest, permanent buy-in with the real economy.

In the DUmbass's defense, I think it was being sarcastic...
-
Yes, I think it was being sarcastic as well, as Radical Activist has a Che for an avatar. The DUmmies are raking him over the coals on this, but he stubbornly stands by his proposal.

Some DUmbass over at OET stated that conservatives use the Che avatar. He even said a few here at CC use it. I've never seen that, but can only imagine it's a joke if someone has it.

Good idea. We should extend that logic to deficit spending as well, since it's their grandchildren who'll be picking up the tab.

Didn't know DUmors were capeable of that trait.
However, it is hard to tell when they're being sarcastic or serious.

Indeed - It's been my observation that several primitives use the 'sarcasm' tag as a way to express what they actually think without it getting scrubbed. It seems to be an unofficial rule on the island. One can say whatever one wants as long as there is ample distance between the poster and management.

No one over 50 should be allowed to vote on climate change.
Great idea!!!
Want to make it perfect?
Just add:
Nobody over 50 has to PAY for climate change!
I'm all over that!

No one over 50 should be allowed to vote on climate change.
How about this:
"No one with an IQ under 72 be allowed to breath. That would eliminate 99.99999999900643312345689765% of the DUmmys on the left thus making the world a much better place.

I would really like to implement another forum I post at in the DUmor section just to see the sheer amount of stupidity that is posted there. I have shown the link before. However, there's a particular bouncy over there on shutting down FNC that is particularly mind consuming.
I post to try to get though these people so they're not just seeing a jackass, but it doesn't seem to work...ever. :thatsright:
