Why are right-wingers so paranoid about "reverse racism"?

This whole Shirley Sherrod flap is yet another example of the American right wing and Faux News going on and on about "reverse racism." The non-issue of the fringe extremist "New Black Panthers" (yeah, all twelve of them) in Philadelphia is another case. And lest we forget, the liberal Southern Poverty Law Center has deemed them a hate group. The whole issue with Glenn Beck saying that President Obama was an "anti-white racist."

Sure, there is such a thing as reverse racism, but it's nowhere near as prevalent -- or nowhere near as socially damaging; as white-on-black racism. It's another right-wing bogeyman meant to get their followers paranoid and afraid. In addition, right-wingers are always whining about "misandry" and going on tirades about how feminists are all a bunch of man-haters.

So, why does the right-wing media run with "reverse racism" so often?

There is no such thing as reverse racism. Racism is racism no matter what pigmentation you have in your skin.
Secondly if a white guy said I hate every Iota of a *n word* and we need to kill *n word* babies you guys would be up in arms and rightfully so.

1. Guilt.

They want to lessen it by showing that everyone is (a racist).

No guilt here I was offended by the words and actions of the Black Panthers and Eric Holder yawning and giving them a pass.

7. They aren't paranoid about it, they just have no fundamental understanding of the history of

the US.

Their view of american history is distorted by fear and ignorance.

This coming from people who think we are a democracy. Yeah you guys are history experts.  :mental:

12. It's what repugs do best... lie

In the hope that their racism will be overlooked, they manufacture racism elsewhere.

Yeah because no agreeing with Obama can only be racism.  :mental:

A better title for the mole's original post would be:

"Why are primitives so obsessed with race?"

Dear DUmmies,

There is NO such thing as "reverse racism."  Either something is racist, or it is not.  It does not matter who is the perpetrator and who is the victim.

reverse racism implies that racism works only one way, ergo from the white man towards the black man. Therefore there can be no racism from the balck man to the white man because it doesn't exist.

the DUmp's logic in a nutshell. (no puns)

I have heard for years that minorities can not be racist since they have no power. Well the president is one of them now so, I say now we can call the racist amongst them racists.

I watched about 10 minutes of that madcow dolt over at PMSNBC las night, and the narrative became clear within the first 15 seconds:  Republicans/conservatives are racist and Fox is trying to scare white people into thinking black people want to take their things.  It's a sure sign of desperation on their part to try and do so.  This isn't aimed so much at conservatives as it is towards liberals, specifically minorities, to try and get them to vote in November.  So madcow and PMSNBC claim that conservative whites are the racist, yet they're the one's trying to stir up racism, and in effect talking advantage of the emotions of black people, in order to drum up votes.  The libs treat blacks like they're their little pets.

I grew up very poor in a single mother household. SHe lost her job when I was ten (1970) and for the first time had nowhere else to turn but to the government. She went to the welfare office in kalifornia and was told that her skin color was wrong. She did get food stamps from the feds. In the apartment above ours there was a single mother with two girls.  She was paralyzed from the waist down. A couple of years after my mom's incident she lost her job. She was also told that she had the wrong skin color to get welfare. I've experienced racism against white people from the government first hand.  It is out there and now these same types of people will be making life and death decisions.
