I am so scared that McCain will win a landslide.
Anyone feel the same way? I really fear it. That old white male jingoism kicking in again and overruling everything else. Will it ever change in this country?

Some disagree...

17. You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!
First off the campaign hasn't even started yet so to this point McCain gets a free ride. Once the campaign starts it will be brought out time and time again that McCain will simply be a Bush 3rd term. That's only his MINOR problem you also have to consider due to his advanced age (71 years) and being a melanoma (skin cancer) survivor, can he even survive the riggers of a campaign. The man has already made 2 major gaffes and the campaign hasn't even started. When you take all the wacko sound bites he's made like bomb...bomb Iran and 100 years in Iraq how in Gawd's name can you even think this will be a close election? Prediction, this election will make Clinton vs. Dole look like a close race.

55. I'm not at all worried. My neighbor has been with McCain for months
(he's a journalist) and he says that the man is "feeble and confused" most of the time. When he asked McCain about his plans to solve the problems with our economy McCain mumbled "I'm not very good with that stuff, you know, economics...I just leave that to other people". I mean, what the **** kind of candidate for ANY office says stuff like that???
others see more sinister forces at work ...

says its preparing us for a stolen election. With the economy this way, Bush's approval numbers, and Democratic primary turnout, there is no way McCain is as popular as "the polls" say.

they're rigging the polls in preparation for rigging the election. every soundbite i see of mccain results in less respect, less belief that he's up to the job. i can't be the only one. and once this infernal primary season is over - i wish it was already over - then, it's ON. i almost feel like getting TV to watch the commercials during the election campaign. even a clunk like me could put together hours and hours worth of talking points to show the people what a bad choice mcbush is. facts. the only thing that scares me is MSM. faux news spent like 2 hours trying to convince the world that obama is anti white people. they get away with this bullshit. people buy that bullshit. incredible.

i suppose when i boil it down i think the democrats have to find a way to beat A. MSM and B. bushies aka corporate fascism. i think it can and will be done.

All logic should say that McCain will be trounced, especially considering how bad the economy is. And it will probably be much worse by November.

My only caveat is that a lot of people thought it was inconceivable that Bush would win reelection, but look what happened. Whether or not you believe he stole it or won it legitimately, he's the one sitting in the oval office now, not Kerry.

Who's logic?  The dope-smoking Marley worshipers?  You guys are funny.  :-)

I thought John McCain was the Republican darling of the liberal set.  Now he's not good enough for them?  He's "too old"?  He's ten years older than Hillary Clinton.  McCain is MUCH younger than Jimmy Carter, who I remember reading the DUmmies wanted to bring back for his second term.

The democrats run the Magic Negro and the Tragic Lezbo and expect to win in a landslide over a republican the liberals have drooled over for years?  Get real, DUmbasses!

I'm afraid 2008 is not the Year of the Donkey after all.

The primitives can't win, no matter how this plays out.

There's only two ways this'll play out.

McCain wins, the primitives lose.

Messalina Agrippina wins, the primitives lose, because Messalina Agrippina's keeping a list.

Coach, I have a question, then.  What happens to DU if the second condition comes true?  I seem to remember that you postulated that DU came about via the DLC.  It would seem to me that DU would be sacrificed, then.

"That old white male" [sic] huh? This one covered both of the bases here.

Not in my lifetime has a woman  even run for POTUS.

Not in my lifetime has a black person even run for POTUS.

IF McCain is to win this election, it won't be because people didn't want a woman or a black person for POTUS; it will be because people didn't want *that* woman or *that* black person, based on themselves personally and politically. DUmmies always resort to the same bullying tactic when they don't get their way  instead of admitting that whoever wins their nomination wasn't electable.

Run Colin Powell or Condi and watch how a black man or, better yet, a black woman, can become POTUS.  It wouldn't be easy, but the arguments for and against would NOT be based on skin color or gender.

When skin color and gender are all you offer, then those are at issue.

This is only speculation, but it's reasonable speculation.

My fellow alum Skins, being a good Democrat and a good liberal and a practical politician, is already on Messalina Agrippina's unstoppable chariot, and has been on board for quite some time.

It's no secret Skins's island was founded by the Democrat Leadership Council, to identify, attract, reel in, and segregate the wilder elements of the Democrats and liberals, keeping them out of public view, sort of as one might stuff a crazy old aunt in the attic.

If the second condition comes true--God forbid--and Messalina Agrippina is inaugurated on January 20, 2009, since Messalina Agrippina is notorious for making and keeping "lists," the primitives would find it wise to run for their lives, to run away as far as possible.

In that one small respect, Messalina Agrippina going into the White House is "good;" decent and civilized people might actually get their wish, the primitives high-tailing it for Canada and regions further on, instead of just talking about leaving.

If the second condition comes true--God forbid--it's reasonable to speculate that Skins's island will sink into the deepest seas, while my fellow alum himself goes on to some sort of middle-level career in the U.S. Department of State, or even the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

While I agree with much of what you have said the $kammer will never let go of DU. DU represents power over others, a LIBERAL wet dream. The only reason he would let go is if DU were replaced by something that allowed him more power over the "little people"... Besides, DU is a money maker for the $kammer and his buddies.

I dunno; I wonder.

I know I'm in a minority opinion, but I have what I think are good reasons for being skeptical that my fellow alum Skins is making much money off of Skins's island.

Skins's island is a pain to operate, what with the primitives being so, uh, primitivish.

I think that what happened when Skins's island was first formed, my fellow alum took the job of running it as "taking one for the team," the regular Democrats and regular liberals, in hopes of later rewards, such as a cushy federal government job.  Skins after all is a good party man.

If the second condition, as Muddyemms calls it, happens, and Messalina Agrippina is--God forbid--elected, the primitives are going to become extinct anyway.

I have no doubt Messalina Agrippina, like her namesakes from ancient Rome, would be promiscuously profligate with applying the lash.

There's a reason the saying "Revolutions devour their own" exists.

The saying exists because it's true.  And it's been true 100% of the time, since the dawn of mankind.

Well, we here on this side got nothing to fear from Messalina Agrippina, mostly because we here on this side did nothing to prevent her from getting the Democrat nomination; she's going to leave us alone.

However, those Democrats, liberals, and primitives who obstructed her route to the nomination--or even just mildly balked it it--have lots and lots to fear.

I have no doubt Messalina Agrippina would apply the lash, vigorously.

Now, the primitives are pretty much insignificant, meaningless, in politics.....or in real life.

But Messalina Agrippina's a good detail-man; she doesn't miss anything, not the smallest thing.

As soon as she's dealt with important foes, she'll turn to the primitives.  Probably right now someone on her staff is monitoring the primaries forum on Skins's island, making a list of Obamanation names.

If I were the Vermontese twins, for example--the cali primitive and the solar bust primitive (garybeck)--I'd be making plans to high-tail it north from Vermont, so far north that Vermont in January would seem as warm as Miami in August, because the reach of Messalina Agrippina's long.

I remember back in 2000 a liberal friend of mine told me Republicans were making a mistake by rejecting McCain because McCain was someone he could vote for.

To which I said, "So, we should nominate someone who people we disagree with could vote for?  Do you realize that makes no sense."

But now that McCain is the nominee, I don't see a whole lot of support from liberals and democratics.

I do tend to believe what Rush said this morning, that whoever wins on the Democrat side, the supporters of the other candidate will either stay home or vote for McCain, but McCain seems like he could do stuff to lose that and send them scurrying back.

I think that scenario plays out best if Hillary and Obama are still duking it out all the way to the convention.

I think right now, at this moment, it is McCain's to lose and I think he is perfectly capable of losing it but the Democrats are making that hard.  But that is just right now, in this moment.  Because things change.  Things always change.
