Poll question: Have you been treated fairly?

Broad question. Very broad. Probably overbroad. Take all the nuance and specifics, and boil it down:

Do you feel, in general and on balance, you have been treated fairly in life?
Poll result (49 votes)
Yes, I have been treated fairly.    (27 votes, 55%)   Vote
No, I have not been treated fairly.    (22 votes, 45%)   Vote

11. No, emphatically not. I have been treated VERY unfairly. **VERY, VERY** unfairly.

I would say that it's the cat that is treated unfairly. After all it has to put up with you.

:rotf: The whiners and crybabies will be coming out of the woodwork.  This should be entertaining.

6. Nope. people assume I'm a freak, or I'm making excuses to be lazy.
Because of my Asperger's I have had deal with a lot of shit and abuse by the rest of society my whole life. Anytime I tried to explain to people I was having a problem with something I was called lazy, accused of making excuses, and accused of "making a big deal out of nothing".

And don't get me started with the "needs people skills" requirement in jobs where you don't need people skills, that is a killer for those of us on the Autism Spectrum.

I'm in no way picking on a person with a disability, but isn't this primitive one who wears asperger's syndrome like a badge of honor?

It may sound cynical, but anyone who goes through life expecting 100% fairness is doomed to disappointment. From time to time, somewhere, somehow, you're going to be screwed over. Sometimes there are ways to redress it, sometimes there aren't, and you just have to swallow your disappointment, consider it a lesson learned and push on. That is why you have to learn to depend on yourself. The more you set yourself up to be dependent on others, the more "unfairness" you'll encounter.

Keep your personal integrity and by extension your own self-esteem intact, always take the high road, and you'll weather the slings and arrows of other people's iniquities.

According to Wikipedia:

"Asperger syndrome or Asperger's syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not required for diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported

Sounds like he/she/it is just your typical DUmmie to me....   :loser:

DON'T YOU DARE TREAT ME DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE OF MY IMAGINARY DISABILITY BUT BY GOD, YOU HAD BETTER TREAT ME DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE OF MY DISABILITY!

If you travel over to my "Liberally Meidcated" thread you'll also see that approximately 50% of the DUmbasses are being treated for at least 1 psycho-social abnormality.

Make of that what you will.

It's a sad but true fact of life that life is not fair.  Most people learn this little lesson when they are still children.

Of course it is not fair, that's why we call it life.

Of course they haven't been treated fairly.  If they were fairly treated, all their assets would have been seized for 'The poor' since they think that's such a great idea for everyone else.  They would would also be provided their coveted state beds, meals, and minimum wage, which they would earn by exercising their (cough) high intelligence and broad skills by some variation of mandatory labor for the government, such as cleaning up Gulf beaches or changing bedpans in healthcare facilities.

21. Some animals are treated more fairly than others.

Fortunately, the unfairness I face as a gay man is just a tiny single issue that is always very easily explained away, so I try to contemplate more pleasant things like the scampering of a puppy, raindrops, and President Obama's smile.

It gets me through my second class status, as so many here explained that it would.

I dont think thats  the point  :bs:

You may need to have your snark detector checked.  Prism is pretty clearly bitchslapping (Of course...) the Obamites mercilessly, but in such a way as to do his best to make it sound properly adoring, so as to avoid the granite pizza.

Looks like the moles are out in force because 53% said they've been treated unfairly.

I am a straight white male.

I have lots and lots of advantages that many other people never had. I have more advantages than most women. I have more advantages than most black people. I have more advantages than most hispanic people. I have more advantages than most gay people.

Had I been treated "fairly", then I would enjoy no such advantages. Said more correctly, the people I mentioned would not have had the DISadvantages they did.

For every happy person, there must be an unhappy person and the unhappy person's unhappiness is directly due to the happy person's happiness.    Because, of course it's all a zero sum game.   :whatever:

I had a jerk of a boss one time, definitely didn't treat me fairly.  On my way out the door, I told HR that he screamed at his employees, could not keep his hands off the female staff, and rarely did anything associated to work as he spent most of his time running various non-work related committees.

I've noticed that a person's happiness is directly related to color of skin and sex of said person (in that order).  I learned that from the DUmmies.

Interesting I have never had an advantage because of my skin color or sexual orientation.
I have never oppressed a minority and, I refuse to buy into the white liberal guilt.

If you look at today's society minorities are the ones who get advantages. Don't believe me? Then let a group of white people stand outside a polling place and say bad things to people of other ethnic backgrounds. Eric Holder would find the time to prosecute them. And if for some reason he just let it go, the press would be all over it and rightfully so.
