55 Percent of Likely Voters Find ‘Socialist’ an Accurate Label of Obama?

The latest poll by Democracy Corps, the firm of James Carville and Stan Greenberg, has Republicans leading on the generic ballot among likely voters, 48 percent to 42 percent.

When asked about “a socialist,†33 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,†22 percent say “well,†15 percent say “not too well,†and 25 percent say “not well at all.â€

The Left has two choices when it comes to this news: Get all aflutter about the alleged extremism of right-wing/tea-party antistatism, or deny that the story is a story. Our old reliable friends at Salon do both:
The right has been screaming about Obama’s “socialism†since the summer of 2008 (at least) — long before he was elected, long before he was sworn in, and long before he signed a single piece of legislation. In other words, the right reached its conclusion before there was any evidence. (This is the “thinking with my gut†mentality that Stephen Colbert likes to mock.) I can’t immediately recall or find any polling from the ‘08 campaign about the Obama/socialism question. But it seems entirely possible that, even during that campaign, around 40 percent of the electorate would have described him as a socialist.

While I find this interesting, there is little Carville does without a motive. I suspect he is continuing to pave the way for Hillary in 2012. He started by piling on BO about the oil spill which was the first signal for democrats to begin their defection. Now this. Make no mistake the motive is to give Hillary one last shot.

He started by piling on BO about the oil spill which was the first signal for democrats to begin their defection. Now this. Make no mistake the motive is to give Hillary one last shot.

It's going to be very, very difficult for Hillary to separate herself from Zero. Had she quit after a year as SecState, I'd agree with you that Carville - the snake that he is - is maneuvering and positioning Hillary somewhere, somehow, for political gain.
But since Hillary shows no signs of bailing out anytime soon, her handlers are going to be hard-pressed to position her as a credible threat to Zero for the Dem nomination.
I ain't saying it can't be done, but it will be a tough, very tough, sell.

I have read online and also seen various shows on Fox where it's been discussed whether or not Hillary will run.
I have also, heard "them" say there are rumors about DC, that Hillary will resign either after the elections or by the early part of January. Which would give her plenty of time to run for president again.
She will have two years as Sec of State, and what almost 2 terms as a Senator? and 8 years as First Lady. Regardless of anything else....that's quite a bit of experience. It's given her time to meet and have indepth conversations with most heads of state around the world, many times over...plus the Senate experience.
Who....running against her...either in primaries or a national election will have what, at face value, appears to be as "qualified" to be President? Especially after having a president that was only in the Senate for 2 yrs, and then rarely there.

Stupid scrunt. This poll was done by Democrat James Carville. 2/3 may disapprove, but he will always hold the approval of the braindead like you.

The majority of our nation voted for this disastrous human being's appointment to the highest office, yes, however, more and more people are waking up to their dastardly mistake. Unlike you because you're a dumb itchbay.
