I always thought John Wayne was a so-so actor. He never won an Academy Award (not that that's real indicative, but it is something worth noting). (EDIT: Oops, he did get an Oscar in True Grit - an okay film, mostly because of Kim Darby).
In particular, his last film "The Shootist" was unbelievably bad and this despite the help of BOTH Lauren Bacall and Jimmy Stewart.
Male actor faves:
Al Pacino (note how his Cuban accent gradually disappears in Scarface)
Robert DeNiro
Sidney Poitier
Montgomery Clift
Female actor faves:
Meryl Streep (stunning job on the Julia Childs flick)
Ellen Barkin (I've always had a thing for her crooked smile)
Sandra Bullock (she's got a terrific sense of humor and she's really easy on the eyes)
Mae West (if you're wondering why, you ain't been paying attention :-) )

Really? I almost think Michael Caine was a metrosexual, before there were metrosexuals. Don't get me wrong, I like him as an actor, but he doesn't come across as very macho, unless you compare him to say Larry Niven.
-
I'll go with least favorite actor:
0bama acting like the President.
-
Wesley Snipes
While he is 73.33445% moonbat, he *IS* one badass mo-fo. Especially in Blade I&II. He is a 5th order black belt and walks the walk in those two movies!
Other than that, John Wayne BECAUSE he represents what a real American is all about: Honesty, integrity, gentleman, virtuousness, and love of this nation.
In other words, everything a DUmmy is not.

Uh, do you mean David Niven, perhaps? Mr. Suave and Sophisticated? Pencil-thin mustache? That guy?

I'll go with you on what JW represents -- but acting ability wasn't one of his real strong suits, imho.

Every time I see or hear the name Matt Damon, I immediately recall Team America. It is stuck in my head.

Well, check him out in "The Ipcress File". He played a working class James Bond. Plus, in "Alfie" he was a super pimp with all the notches in his belt. :-)

Eric Bana and Liam Neeson
Cate Blanchett and Katherine Hepburn
Bana's character was awesome in Black Hawk Down.
A couple of my favorites would be:
Harvey Keitel aka "The Wolf" in Pulp Fiction.
Damian Lewis as Major Richard Winters in Band of Brothers.
-
What is this fascination with Liam Neeson? It was bad enough having him in Star Wars and the Narnia movies... the guy is unwatchable.
-

:rotf:
I want to add Bugs Bunny to my list! :-)

I don't remember if I replied to this thread yet or not but now I am going to say:
Carey Grant
Milla Jovovich

Sigh.

Wasn't Chris Farley in that movie?
