My very first serious poem, be gentle. 
 The ______ States of America



It's the birthday of our nation and once again
we blow stuff up. We cook out and drink
to celebrate the amazing fact that we remain
but how many times have we ever stopped to think ...

...You conservative people who think yourselves so righteous
No longer have the rights to the word united
Your entire plan to save the country is to fight us
and cheer when our cities become broken and blighted.

Greed and selfishness and derision are the new American pride.
The poor and jobless the new terrible inhuman foe.
The new patriotism is little more than a partisan divide
Where the only a thing a leader has to do is say no.

It's too long and  :yawn: to bring over.

I'm having my coffee
and browsing my computer
when I look to the right
what a sight I see
prominently on my refrigerator
is a beautiful magnetic sign that says

"America was founded by RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS"

If you can not see the greatness
of what our Country was founded on
and the greatness that has and still does exist
then you can take your
latte
your poems
your art
your organic veggies
and your silly naive views
and book a flight to Venezuela
then get back to us

Don't give up the carpentry, dipshit.  Though I gather from your previous posts that you suck at earning a living through carpentry about as much as you suck at poetry.

No. Calpig's suck is The Quintessential Suck. It's the suck standard that all other sucks are measured by. Remember the scene in Goldfinger when Gert Frobe is sucked out the airplane window? Her poems suck worse than that. The final tornado scene in Twister? Worse than the tornado. Any scene in Deep Throat? More profound suckage. Black Holes have been known to look at Calpig's poems and exclaim, "That sucks!"
