"Forget about criticizing Obama," warned PJ Gladnick, Examiner Opinion Zone blogger and operator of a blog called "DUmmie FUnnies" which pokes fun at Democratic Underground members.

So, if you suggest "that a particular point of view is required in order to be a Democrat, liberal, or progressive," call someone a conservative, make a comment that's "too rhetorically hot, too divisive, too extreme, or too inflammatory," prepare to be booted

Here are some more samples of the ludicrous list of rules violatio
I noticed from reading posts here they have changed huh?

She's relatively new and still getting a feel for what goes where.  This story did come from a legitimate news site so it could be confusing as to where to put it.

No problem.

Moderators here cut newcomers a lot of slack.

It's an impressive find.

The DUmp is and will continue to be the laughingstock of the internets.  I'd be embarrassed to be a member there.  Except as a mole.

I'm actually pretty surprised I've seen people taking more and more notice of that filthy place. I think there's been 3 or 4 links talking about their worthless hides.. I guess radicalism breeds curiosity. Not to mention distaste.

The net effect of these overstated policies is to decrease discussion, Gladnick said.

Just having read 1984, this is what Newspeak was meant to accomplish.
Quote
"Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?… Has it ever occurred to your, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?…The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking—not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."

Hell, the insanity of the DUmp has even made it to the press: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Faced-with-internal-division-democratic-underground-clamps-down-on-Obama-criticism-97704504.html

Just why this is newsworthy (or blogworthy is beyond me)

I wear my membership at the DUmp as a badge of honor. Not just because of the inherent joy of internal stick poking of the hive, because the VRWC Black Ops fund stuffs a ten dollar bill in my pay envelope each month.

Yes - it's a twofer...

I was reading an article in Weekly Standard, and Mathew Continetti (criticizing the Glenn Beck faction of the Tea Party), said "not even the stupidest liberal would subscribe to Stalin or Lenin."  They don't take LTTE at WS, but I would like to ask Continetti if he'd read DU lately.

One guy over there mentioned something about Chairman Mao's starvation murder of hundred of millions.  Some commie dummie said, "do you have proof of that?  I had not heard that before."  The guy came back and said "It's common knowledge, look it up anywhere."  The commie dummie said "if you have no link, you have no proof."

I should have brought that over as a stand alone post.  Pissed me off.

At DU ?? -- well, if any friends of Mao are reading this - here is a snippet from DU-approved Wikipedia ;

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Leap_Forward

The Great Leap Forward of the People's Republic of China (PRC) was an economic and social plan used from 1958 to 1961 which ostensibly aimed to use China's vast population to rapidly transform the country from an agrarian economy into a modern communist society through the process of agriculturalization,[citation needed] industrialization, and collectivization. Mao Zedong led the campaign based on the Theory of Productive Forces, and intensified it after being informed of the impending disaster from grain shortages.

"Chief changes in the lives of rural Chinese included the introduction of a mandatory process of agricultural collectivization, which was introduced incrementally. Private farming was prohibited, and those engaged in it were labeled as counter revolutionaries and persecuted. Restrictions on rural people were enforced through public struggle sessions, social pressure, and violence. Food rationing was introduced, in some cases leaving rural Chinese with less than 250g (half a jin, 8.82 ounces) of grain per day. The Great Leap ended in catastrophe, triggering a widespread famine that resulted in possibly more than 20 million deaths."[1]

and the referenced material for that quote --

Tao Yang 2008, pp. 1-29

So, there you have it, Chairman Mao denier primitive.
