Title: Closing Guantánamo Fades as a Priority
Post by: bijou on June 26, 2010, 09:46:33 AM
Stymied by political opposition and focused on competing priorities, the Obama administration has sidelined efforts to close the Guantánamo  prison, making it unlikely that  President Obama will fulfill his promise to close it before his term ends in 2013.

When the White House acknowledged last year that it would miss Mr. Obama’s initial January 2010 deadline for shutting the prison, it also declared that the detainees would eventually be moved to one in Illinois. But impediments to that plan have mounted in Congress, and the administration is doing little to overcome them. ...

So the first thing he was going to do is now downgraded to possibly the last thing...

Is the Times saying that he's going to be beaten in 2012, subliminally? :fuelfire:

The day is rapidly approaching where even the MSM can't deny it any more.  Seriously, does anyone here think Zero's approval rating would be anywhere near where it is without the constant media fellation his administration receives?  The almost laughable lack of investigation and questioning that dogged the Bush administration on Page 1, above the fold, on a daily basis from January 20th, 2001 through January 20th, 2009?

Lurking DUmmies and liberal posters--ask yourselves this question--if Obama were subject to the same kind of attacks, scrutiny, etc., that Bush faced in the media for similar severity of circumstances, what do you HONESTLY think his approval rating would be right now?  30 percent?  25 percent?  Less?  Because if you say the same or even close, you're just bullshitting yourselves.

One of the libs I work is was so happy about the closing of GITMO, complaining about human rights violation and how happy he was that OBAMA was gonna close it.  Can't wait to bring this up to him on Monday :evillaugh:

You could also bring up the new strategy in Afghan by the new General.

I seen several stories that said some of the detainees at Gitmo would rather stay there than be moved to Illinois. I can't blame them one bit.

And Nancy P. probably said something like, "We have to elect him to find out how he really stands."

So now the DUmmies know, he told them what they wanted to hear to get their vote. In 2012, it'll be other lies and they will buy those too.

Buy them? Hell, they'll write most of them.

Hope and change not turning out so well for the long-term residents at Club Gitmo, it appears.  How remarkably too bad for them.

I would like the US to pay Russia to house them in a Siberian prison. See how they like the frigid weather, no TV, shitty food, work details and no prayer rugs. That would be my answer to closing Gitmo.

He's been avoiding me lately...I wonder why? :lmao:

But I did "nail" him today..we discussed the Gulf Oil spill, the non-closing of Gitmo, Lord Zero's ego in the firing of McCrytal...the open ended war in Afghanistan...he was basically owned.  I would avoid me too. :-)

Oh!  and the democrat controlled Congress with the 23% approval rating... :loser:  He says the democrats will keep control of Congress in November.. :rotf:
