Wow, talk about recycled news........ these came out a few years ago. I forget exactly when, but it was three or more.
-
For some reason, I can't see the pics over there. Probably a good thing.

Some of the DUmmies are against these things. I have no problem with something that could potentially stop a rapist. Granted that penetration would have to occur for the full effect, but maybe just knowing that a woman may have one of these might deter some men.

A quick Google showed me that I was right. This came out a while ago. I remember it vividly because of the statement I bolded.
Rape-aXe
An anti-rape female condom using a different design was invented by Sonnet Ehlers, a South African woman. Ehler was motivated to create it while working as a blood technician with the South African Blood Transfusion Service, during which time she met many rape victims. Initially called RapeX, the name was changed in 2006 upon discovering that RAPEX is also an EU warning system against dangerous goods on the market.
The Rape-aXe is a latex sheath embedded with shafts of sharp, inward-facing barbs that would be worn by a woman in her vagina like a tampon. If an attacker were to attempt vaginal rape, his penis would enter the latex sheath and be snagged by the barbs, causing the attacker excruciating pain during withdrawal and giving the victim time to escape. The condom would remain attached to the attacker's body when he withdrew and could only be removed surgically[2], which would alert hospital staff and police. Like most condoms, Rape-aXe also usually prevents pregnancy and the transmission of HIV and sexually transmitted Infections.
Rape-aXe was unveiled on August 31, 2005 in South Africa. Mass production was scheduled to begin in April 2007.[3]
[edit] Background
Ehler mentioned that she was inspired to create RAPEX (later renamed to Rape-aXe) when a patient who had been raped stated, "If only I had teeth down there,"[4] suggesting the myth of the vagina dentata.

Well you know sometimes it takes years for an invention to hit the market.
Actually woman and girls don't even have to own these contraptions, just a T Shirt that has the company LOGO Rape aXe on the back or front.
I can see the newest TOY ? for Xmas now, itti bittie tampons for girls under the age of 6.
Old Lady's that live alone and are targets for the crazies, they can replace the Protected by Orkin sign with Protected by Rape aXe sign in the front yard.
A whole new world for the schools that teach sex education to the youngsters. Boys in fear of being attacked by Gays may consider getting the small tampons to to use as butt plugs. Take that Uncle George.
I am just waiting for the infomercials to come out, be more interesting then the programs selling vacuums.
I apologise if I have offended anyone, this subject is just too too good to be serious.
But then one never knows when a product will take off and sell like wild fire.

If I understand it correctly, you would have to be wearing it already for it to be effective. So you would walk around with it in if you thought there was a high chance of being raped.
