The sifting of more than 800 cubic yards (612 cubic meters) of debris recovered from ground zero and underneath roads around the lower Manhattan site began in April and ended Friday.
The greatest number of remains – 37 – were found from material underneath West Street, a highway on the west side of ground zero. The new debris was uncovered as construction work made new parts of the site accessible. ...

That will provide some measure of relief to their families.

I don't really know what to say when it comes to things like this. I hope with all my heart that the families that have at least something of their lost loved ones back, get at least a little bit of closure.
:(

God Bless those that were lost, and their families.
It will be a closure of sorts....but after almost 9 years....whatever healing that time has done...will be ripped open again, and 72 families will have to start the healing process over again.
-
absolutely shocking and disgraceful that a "renewed" search was required, much less that it turned up 72 previously lost souls.
-
My impression is that only a single bone was found intact, the rest are fragments. All will require gene typing to discover who they came from.
No down town mosque. Not now, not ever.

We haven't even seen that heat up to the full fahrenheit yet, sadly. Devastating things are on the horizon. I pray for all the families who lost someone.
I have never, and will never be in favor of an enemy base on the graves of our soldiers/citizens! I am livid ithat it's even being considered.

9 years later. Such a tragic day it was. Sadly, there are many people who are getting ill after being exposed from dust and smoke from the collapse. :( :bawl:
-
I hope it gives them some peace such a sad day that I hope is never forgotten and I will do my part to never allow my children to forget

in fact, there has never been anything found from my friend Linda's body at Shanksville. her ;parents suffer still.

I thought they recovered all the bodies from Flight 93. I guess some of them were incinerated completely.

Nothing was found of anyone who stormed the cockpit. It wenr in nose first, inverted, they were utterly destroyed. Linda was a good person, strong, lots of courage, she could face up to anything, and she did.
-
She's a hero in my book, and I will give special prayer, and remembrance in her memory every year.
-
would you like Linda Grunlund's story? I have posted it before, but would be both happy and distressed to post it again. Even if it still hurts my heart.
-
If you send it to me via PM, that'd be great. I've been arguing with DUmors at another forum I post at, and feel I wouldn't give it the attention it most certainly deserves tonight. I will definitely read it though when I am better composed.

and to think they want a Mosaic there, that is like honoring the terrorist.
