So this lady I work with comes up to me...

She's a Democrat who doesn't know it. Calls herself a republican but adheres much closer to the Democratic party base.

Anyway, she and her boyfriend (they are in their 60's), are having a rough time of it.

He just got fired from his job (lawsuit pending. age discrimination. he's got full blown cancer. He has a very good case). Anyway, he doesn't have health care now.

They freaked out.

They got on Cobra.

Then something interesting happened.

She said, "I was against the health care plan, I didn't like Obama (she still voted for him. She thinks failin, in her own words, "is a dumb ass". LOL), but now when she found out that the government takes up a huge portion of the cobra payments (not sure 60-65%?), she suddenly understands.

I politely explained to her, that what we got was health care insurance reform. There are some good things in it. That the devil is in the details. I further said, if we had health care reform, we would have something along the lines of, for example Canada, single payer system.

She began to spout off faux news talking points, I politely countered them all. She paused. And said, "why didn't they tell us that?" I asked her which news program she looks at? You all know the answer. I told her, "that's why".

She is a very smart woman but like many people out there doesn't have time to really look too deep into issues. She just gets "the headlines".

So before parting, she says, "this health insurance reform is pretty good". I looked at her and said, "it's a start, imagine not having to pay anything?"

She looked thoughtful and walked away.

One by one.

You lie.

-3 bongs.

3. You said it: One by one.

Maybe she'll talk it over with some of her right-wing friends...

And they will...

So it goes.

You did good!

Recommended.

It figures the the queen of rhyme is too DUmb to to spot a liar.

12. By the yard, it's hard. By the inch, it's a cinch.

Just keep on keepin' on.

Never try to usurp CPeg's crowning glory, especially in a thread that she has posted in.

The DU has absolutely no idea of the costs that are going to be involved in all of this and how healthcare will be going downhill. I was reading a story about a private clinic opening up in Alberta Canada, and the way to get around the law was the clinic charging $2,000 per person per year to get access to good healthcare, they had to use "membership" to get around that law. I see that happening right now, my Aunt's Doctor has basically gone private, he has a set number of patients and he charges I think $1,800 a year for it. The rich won't suffer because of Obamacare but the middle class sure as heck will and those are the people that the Democrats said they wanted to help.

They didn't want to help anyone.  All they wanted was power and control.  They got it.  Now it's gonna bite them in the ass and tear off a cheek.  It'll get the other cheek in November of 2012.

See misfit, that is where the "devil is in the details" hits the pavement -- someone is paying for this.   You will soon learn who that "someone" is.   It ain't going to be so pretty when you do.

"Imagine not having to pay anything."   That sentence jumped right out at me, and illustrates the childishness, no, infantilism, of democrats.  When I was very small, maybe six, my dad explained the concept of "no free lunch" to me.  It made perfect sense.

What happened to the air guitar smileys?  The high-fiving ones look stupid.

We know that, yet as usual there were a lot of uninformed Americans who chose to believe this was going to help them.

I give you the four most cruel words in the English language, which you can tell those who voted for Teh Wun . . .

"I told you so."
