Just imagine how many videos we'd get to see if the DemonRats weren't too scared to hold town hall meetings.

Snipped from Breibarts Big Government.

Last week, Democrat Congressman Bob Etheridge (D-NC2) attended a fundraiser headlined by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He was asked by some students on the street whether he supported the “Obama Agenda.†He didn’t take it well.

I wonder that the DUmmies think about this? They loved it when the Iraqi journalist threw a shoe at President Bush & anytime the Code Pinkies assaulted someone.

Too bad that student wasn't Chuck Norris. :evillaugh:

Meet Congressman Bob Etheridge, Democrat from North Carolina’s Second CD. Rep. Etheridge doesn’t much like people asking him whether he supports Barack Obama’s agenda, as a student camera crew on the street discovered when asking this elected official about his political positions. Etheridge interrupts his journey to a fundraiser thrown by Nancy Pelosi to assault the young reporter, first by grabbing the hand that holds the microphone and then by horse-collaring him, all the while demanding, “Who are you? I have a right to know who you are.†....more w/the video!)
Ahhhh, the party of peace and love :evillaugh:

There's only one (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8553778) thread about it from what I saw (although I was in a bit of a hurry). Some say that he was an idiot or whatever, but a few of them say it was a setup. Like this moron:

9. Maybe ...
It's important to note that this was a setup. The Congressman seemed fine, if in a hurry, and then something happens ... Why?
I don't think his behavior was appropriate whatever the case, but "arrested" is, imo, typical Greenwald hyperbole.

And had this been a GOP Congresscritter, it would be plastered over the entire MSM 24/7.

First this Senator looks like he has had a few drinkies before he met this kid on the street.
Second he appears paranoid at that time. Had the student been a young female blond wearing a mini skirt and low cut blouse would he have grabbed her.???
To look at this video, the man appears afraid of the student, his questions and what kind of threat he may be to him.
Keep an eye on this man, he has some baggage that may come out, he is a very frightened man.

Looks like the douchebag (I mean, Congressman) decided to finally make an apology...

“I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.â€
Emphasis mine. Aw, poor widdle Congressman, were you goaded into it by those mean Rethuglicans?
I'm sure that'll be Keef and Madcow's take on it tonight, where I'm sure it'll dominate their shows....

No problem ! Etheridge just apologized and told the press it's up to them to figure out if it was a setup....lol. It does help his case that the face of the assaultee was fuzzed out. Darn.

"I'm sorry I was caught."

How so, exactly?

Too bad that student wasn't Chuck Norris. :evillaugh:
If it had been Chuck Norris then old Bob would be signing in notes only dogs could hear.
-
The ability to commit random misdeameanors and felonies, just another perk of being a liberal congressman.
-
If I slapped/held someone like that...it'd be assault.

Assualt is verbal. What the congressman did is battery.
-
The congressman must've read the memo that said white, suit-wearing males with manners are the new terrorists.
That kid held his cool longer than I would have.
