"Even though I'm president of the United States, my power is not limitless. So I can't dive down there and plug the hole. I can't suck it up with a straw."

-- President Obama, quoted by the Washington Post, on the massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.  ~ Barack Obama

From that same speech Obama gave I found irony personified.

Quote
The other side will come here in September and offer a very different set of policies and positions, and that is a debate I look forward to. It is a debate the American people deserve. But what you don't deserve is another election that's governed by fear, and innuendo, and division. What you won't hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon—that sees our opponents not as competitors to challenge, but enemies to demonize. Because we may call ourselves Democrats and Republicans, but we are Americans first. We are always Americans first.

And there it is folks, genuine genius in action.  :lmao:  Of course if he was super intelligent, he would invite the rest of his cabinet to grab little bendy straws of their own and help.
Yep, this could work, after all most of us are aware of just how much this government sucks.

Maybe if you removed your lips from Mahmoud and lil Kim's buttocks and try again it might work.

Oh, come on.  The very dust of the Earth hastens to obey the commands of MY messiah.  All he had to was speak the words and the waters of the seas obeyed him without question or hesitation.  If you're campaigning to replace my messiah Barry, you need to be AT LEAST as capable as the one I already have.  Now pick up that straw and try again, you effin' poseur.  :-)

See, I am one of those wild and craaazy "birthers" :whatever:who doesn't think he's an American first.  I think he was first a Kenyan, then an Indonesian Muslim and now a reconstituted (from dried shitflakes) American.  His wife, while admittedly born in this country, loathes it because "it done her wrong cuz of her skin color", although I'm positive her skin color is what got her into a university and a law firm.
I am an opinionated beeyatch with some authority figure issues :-) so I have never slobbered in lockstep with ANY president.  But for the first time, not only do I disagree with this mutt and his bitch, but I am convinced they're the first "First Couple" who hate this country and are actively trying to destroy her. :fuelfire:

When do the mass suicides of his followers begin?

As soon as the Kool-ade is mixed, or November 3rd, whichever occurs first....

See, I am one of those wild and craaazy "birthers" :whatever:who doesn't think he's an American first.

I imagine most of us grew up with the normal American upbringing. Pledge of Allegiance in school, taught reverence on Memorial Day, pride and honor on the Fourth of July; there are lots of little components that constitute the "average" American experience growing up. I doubt 0 had any of them.

He grew up with a leftist-hate-America family. He also lived in Indonesia as a muslim in the post-Carter years, when America was named The Great Satan by the Islamists. Back here he went to his leftist grandparents, lent to communist friends. Then on to a groomed push through college and into rabble-rousing/extortion community organizing. That coincided with years in a hate-America black "church".

Somehow, we're supposed to believe that he is just one of us, who loves America and wants what is best for her.

Exactly.  What's very frightening to me is that the younger generation is NOT taught reverence for our American heritage, at least not in the schools.  It's apparently a crime to be a white person, religious person, straight person, whatever-people like that are "bigots" and "racists".  America was a paradise before Europeans came to kill the natives.  We are the only country on the face of the earth that ever had slavery, etc. :banghead:

Well, of course people are waking up to the fact that he is not.  (Some of us were awake all along).  Look how that WSJ editorial "The Alien in the White House" resonated.  Over 1,000 comments at the article, most positive toward it.  The author was on TV over the weekend.
