Thank you, Mr. President!
I just learned today that, because of Barack Obama's Health Care Reform, I have received assistance for my Medicare Part D. (prescription coverage). My premiums were costing me $60.00 a month. Now, they're down to $6.00 a month. My brand-name prescriptions used to cost me anywhere from $60.00 to $120.00, making it impossible. Now, my most expensive prescription will cost me $6.00. Best of all, I have NO DONUT HOLE! I volunteered for Obama and a program for health care reform and its nice to see something I worked for come to fruition.
AND ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU, BARACK OBAMA! YOU HAVE MY SUPPORT FOR 2012!

My premiums went up by 17% then again I have to work for my benefits.
-
They're telling us our medical insurance for next year will go up by at least 30 percent. Bye-bye, payraise.
-
My premiums went up almost $80 a month, I thought my premiums were going to come down $2,500 a year? Obama said it would.

They went a huge amount this winter for no good reason.
Sweetie, you need to come out of fantasyland, your premiums aren't going to come down at all.

Obama says premiums are going to come down $2,500 a year, which I don't believe, but let's say he's right and the premiums do come down, they won't come down until after 2016 if they even do come down, which basically means my premiums are going to go skyhigh for the next 6 years to cover things like pre-exisiting conditions etc. so if they do come down I'm still going to be paying more then I was before this plan went into effect.
I know too many people who CHOOSE not to carry health insurance, and the purpose of insurance is to carry
it in case you get sick, and how many who CHOOSE not to carry it have new cars, big screen tv's, new computers etc. You don't get fire insurance when your house is burning.

The people who choose not to buy health insurance will now pay fines to the IRS every year. And my guess is tons of people will do the math and figure out that a smaller tax refund in the spring will make up not for shelling out monthly premiums. Then if they get sick they just call up Blue cross get insured and go to the doctor. I wonder if I can cancel state farm and if I plow in to someone get insurance to cover that accident. :-)

Exactly! so tell me why I shouldn't just drop my insurance, pocket the premiums, and when I need insurance just call up and demand it?

IMO that is the exact scene that was desired so that insurance companies will be forced to raise the rates to provide an adequate coverage pool.
Then an outcry and one step closer to single payer.

Ding, Ding, Ding. You are todays grand prize winner. Or to paraphrase Newt's line "insurance companies will begin to wither on the vine" and thus will an alarmed populace call out for nationalization of health care. This is Kabuki Theater to distract the mass masses from the final objective. Razzle Dazzle 'em then kick their teeth out. It's the Chicago way.

First of all, this is an outright lie......

The premiums for all supplemental Part D coverage are going UP due to the cuts in Medicare enacted in this law, and secondly the "donut hole" has NOT disappeared, but is scheduled to phase out over the next four years. UNLESS, you are on Medicaid (welfare, which pays for additional coverage).....the copays for brand-name drugs has also increased 5% this year, not gone down.
All that has changed (for Part D users) is this year when you hit the "donut hole", is that Medicare sends you a check for $250 as a one time payment.......that said, from the point of drug coverage, Part D folks still have to pay for their meds entirely from about $2800 until their cost exceeds about $4,000 or so.
DUmmies lie.....all the time.....

I thought obama said your premiums would go down 3000%.

sweet.
i *heart* obama...

How is this possible since the healthcare policies aren't even in effect until 2014? The only thing starting right away, in 2011, are all the frikkin' taxes!
This idiot is FUll of SHit!

22. I'm happy for you!
But one issue does not a president make. Just stay on his good side. Don't join a union and give them any money to flush down the toilet. And by no means do you want to become a whistle-blower and show how our armed services are murdering, kidnapping and renditioning people. Still.
- Just like those other sick ****s before him.....
Wow troop bashing in the middle of a praise lord 0 thread.
And **** you dummy for bashing troops.

ZERO BONG!
Yeah, Stinky needs to quit puttin' his finger up the cat's ass and pullin' it out to smell it! I think it has given him drainbamage!

Yeah, that's what I want in a president. Someone who will give ME stuff.
Sheesh. They never think of the cost to others, just what they can have given to them. To hell with everyone else.

You said it perfectly...as a conservative I don`t want and know it is a bad thing to have a politician try to make me think I would benefit from them.

This only means that the poster's income has fallen (thanks to Obama) below the threshold where they qualify for................you guessed it.........a subsidy.
P.S. Shout out to Ballygrl. Thanks for directing me here! :cheersmate:

Unfortunately, the DU poster stated that he/she/it was on Medicare (Part D).......the only "subsidy" for Medicare recipients is "Medicaid/Welfare". The subsidies are reserved for those folks that are under 65, who will be forced to either go out and purchase their own insurance, or pay the fine, and have none.

0bama was talking to DUmmys and Freud excluded him from saying IQ rather than premiums.

These scumbags and their treasonous "horse manure for brains" mindsets, are the primary reason for the military oath "to solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..."
Corporal punishment for DUmmys is a REQUIRED MANDATE to protect this nation and her citizenry!

Always keep franksolich's 1st rule in mind when reading anything over at DU - "DUmmies lie. All the time, DUmmies lie."

The 2012 campaign has begun and the Dems are getting their messaging "ducks" in a row . . . there's going to be a huge amount of these types of posts coming.
-
I think a law should be passed prohibiting anyone living off federal funds from campaigning for any candidate, rather than working a PAYING JOB.

President Bush set up Part D, but I guess his thank-you card got lost in the mail. Yeah.
I spent 4 months collecting unemployment and got an extra $13 a week. Thank you, Barack Obama!
