Title: My 16 year old daughter won
Post by: BEG on June 10, 2010, 07:50:52 PM
Student of the year in Digital Arts today. The school she goes to has a special digital arts program that kids from other schools transfer so they can be in the program. My daughter transferred too and had to get approval to do so from the head of the program. She had to show her previous year grades and also get her last year art teacher's recommendation.

She got to go on stage in front of the whole school to accept her award. She was so excited.

That's excellent news. Sounds like it took a lot of work. Give her a "congratulations" from me, please. She should be proud of herself.

My daughter's last day of school was today.  She found out today that besides getting Student of the Year in the "Digital Arts & Humanities Program", she also was recognized for the 2nd quarter for her project in digital arts and humanities called "The Industrial Revolution" and her 3rd quarter digital arts and humanities project "Totalitarian Photomontage".  She also got a 105 on her Algebra 2 final.

Just thought I would brag.

Oh and for those of you who responded and help me with my other daughter with GATE (Gifted and Talented), I sent back the permission form for her to be in the GATE program.  I had a long talk with her and she agreed to "give it a go".
