Now, this is ridiculous.

And I'm embarrassed that FGL, of all people, would make this sort of request.

Even in my most-deranged moments, I never considered FGL a drama queen.

I don't think conservativecave should honor requests that an account, and one's posted comments, be deleted from the site.

We've been through this many times, a member wishing to be expunged.

There's a quick, simple, and easy way to "quit" a web-site.

All one has to do is stop logging on and posting.

That's it; nothing more.

I cannot believe this.

All one has to do is stop logging on and posting.

That's it.

Nothing more than that.

The final straw was him taking his silly drama to FreeRepublic.

He's a mental case... good riddance.

OK.  What did I miss?

Apparently, he wasn't being worshiped properly.  Mr. Looney got a bug up his ass about something and was shown the door.

Well, there's a difference between being banned--forcibly expelled--and voluntarily resigning.

I think it's silly for one wishing to "voluntarily resign," and am embarrassed that FGL, of all people, made such a request.

It smacks of the drama-queenish to me.

As mentioned, we've had other members in the past ask that their accounts be deleted; that they were voluntarily resigning from conservativecave.

It's just really silly.

If one wishes to voluntarily resign, all one has to do is quit logging on and commenting.

That's all there is to it.

By expunging the accounts and those who voluntarily resign, we're catering to drama queens.

That's why, in my opinion (as a member, not as a moderator), I think conservativecave should simply ignore such requests.  It's so.....so.....so.....childish.

If one clicks on their own profile there is a way to do it without fanfare.

Easy enough to ask in private too if one wishes.

You know, I noticed that in my profile, the option to delete one's account, and became alarmed.

Sometimes one inadvertently clicks on the wrong place.

I got far too much invested in wordage in this place, and the thought that I might some day carelessly click on the wrong place, makes my hair turn grey.

I assume that if one deletes one's own account, it's unrecoverable.

That option should have been removed.  :(

Does anyone else see it?

It's still on mine, and I wish it weren't there.

I mean, hey, I've said a lot of blowhard bullexcresence and some other embarrassing stuff here, but I like to think I've also said a few things of great import, and would be devastated--suicidal, even--if I accidentally hit that button, meaning to click on something else.

Thank you, sir.

It's gone now.

No more worries about accidentally erasing my stuff.

If I wanted something erased, I'd ask an administrator to do it, which to me seems the most mature option.

Between his posts on our Facebook group, the Shout Box here, his posts here and the one's he made over at the Freeper site. he pretty much committed "suicide by admin". I'm the kind of guy that what's said here, stays here. If one has a problem, they are free to address it with any of the staff. It will be taken up the chain of command for consideration and/or action. For the record, I'm fairly loathe to ban people, BUT...... there comes a time.
