why has Blanche Lincoln won the primary?
Is this an open primary where Republicans and/or independents can vote in a Dem. primary?

In Halter friendly areas, naturally.
Or in other words, the DLC stole it.
Everytime they lose someone had to cheat, it's never their ideology being rejected by the voters!

Remember all the claptrap about an apology from the U.S. for slavery? Well, it turns out that one of the three founding planks of the Democrat Party was the continuation and expansion of slavery. Not sure if they ever apologized for that.

November 2004 was absolutely hilarious. Kerry wasn't necessarily their favorite of the Dem candidates (Dean & Clark were the more popular Dems), but they were heartbroken when he lost. Plus, many of them were declaring voter fraud immediately. It was so funny to read the DUmp that election year.

I was on a message board with a small political section when Bush won in 2004, we ended up hanging out in our little conservative forum because it was ridiculous how the left was acting, I can imagine it then on a much larger scale.

I used to post some DU compliation threads (there are a few in the DUmping Ground). I have one saved on another computer with 2004 election prediction threads and then the aftermath. Sometime soon, I'll see if I can resurrect it for you. It's so funny to read their guarantees and predictions, then the whining and gnashing of teeth afterwards. :evillaugh:

If you ever get the chance to see the movie Left of the Dial, an HBO documentary about the early days of Air America, do so. They go through election night 2004 and the bitter tears of the like of Garlafalo and others who's names have been lost to time, is so sweet and hilarious.

Indeed - there will be meltdowns - Also, expect the DU DEFCON rating to explode - such that only people with active mole accounts will be able to read messages there for a time afterward.

OK, so how does it work, will all registered members be able to read? or only regular members who post? or only people with stars? Just deciding if I need to sign up using a proxy IP.

Usually one needs to be registered to read if all hell breaks loose. DU has a series of actions they perform to decrease server load during high traffic times, restricting thread viewing to members is their last resort.

If I remember right, around 2004 election, even that wasn't enough, and they had to restrict it to just the people who donated.

That *might* be correct - I gave it some thought and I do not remember one way or the other - regardless - the 2004 elections resulted in primitive insanity unlike any other period I have seen there. At this time, I expect the 2010 results to deliver on about the same level.
