It's no secret that we're heading towards disaster; the Balkanization of the United States can be seen every time you turn on the news, demonstrations like the Tea Party make it hard to see the government is even listening or scared of the voice of the people anymore, the economy failing, and the media's doublespeak on issues to muddy the waters and encourage passivity. I'm fairly young still and becoming more and more aware of the political climate lately and personally, I'm fearful for myself and my family, that this country is losing the battle against the disease that assaults it. Is the future really so bleak or is there something on the horizon that I can look forward to?
Thank you.

Somewhat bleak for a first post.......
It is customary to introduce yourself in the "Welcomes and Introductions" forum, as a new member, so that the others can get to know you a bit.
That said, welcome to CC.

I'm a bit morose and grim when it comes to political topics of discussion. Thank you for the advice and the welcome. ♡

Right now things look very unsettling but time is moving quickly and elections are coming.
The human spirit is very determined and will fight back against oppression...that is what makes America great.
I won`t say that all damage done can be undone but we can fix a lot.
I was younger then you when Carter was President and that seemed bleak...it didn`t last for long so don`t give up hope.
