LIMA, Peru – Criminal police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia told a news conference that Joran van der Sloot was being sought in the Sunday killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel. Guardia said the suspect fled the country the next day by land to Chile.
The Dutch government said Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for him.
Guardia said van der Sloot, 22, who was in the country for a poker tournament, appears with the young woman in a video taken at a Lima casino early Sunday.
The victim's father, Ricardo Flores, told reporters she was killed about 8 a.m. that morning in a hotel room that was splattered with blood, indicating a struggle.
Van der Sloot left Peru on Monday, Guardia said, according to immigration registry. He had been staying at the hotel since May 14 and checked out on Sunday four hours after he arrived there with the victim, the police general added.

I remember Joran van der Sloot. That guy is a brat. He was big news in 2005. I remember he is one of the most hated person besides Osama bin Laden and Ward Churchill. Hope he rots in a Peruvian prison. They are Hell I hear.

BREAKING NEWS: Some reports say that Joran van der Sloot, longtime suspect in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway five years ago and prime suspect of the brutal stabbing death days ago of 21-year-old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, has been found dead near the Peru border after allegedly committing suicide.
There are currently no more details on this breaking news but we’ll post updates here in Daily World Trends regarding this piece of news so keep it here.

Unless this is a one of a kind coincidence and he in fact is a psychopath then his where abouts on May 30 for the last 5 years should be looked into----Any one missing or found dead on that date??

Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch man suspected in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway--and now in the murder of a woman in Peru--was named today in a federal extortion complaint charging him with seeking $250,000 in return for information about the whereabouts of Holloway's corpse. According to the below complaint, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Birmingham, Alabama, van der Sloot last month received a $15,000 downpayment on a six-figure fee to "provide the location of Natalee Holloway's remains in Aruba and information regarding the circumstances of her death."

Federal agents trying to build an extortion case against Joran van der Sloot secretly gave him the cash that wound up funding his trip to Peru, where he killed a young woman exactly five years after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, The Post has learned.
Van der Sloot tried to shake down Holloway's mother by offering information about her daughter's 2005 disappearance, and agents decided to set him up with a $25,000 payoff, a source told The Post yesterday.
An intermediary acting under the direction of the FBI gave van der Sloot the dough in Aruba on May 10 -- and four days later, he flew to Peru, where he allegedly murdered 21-year-old Stephany Flores in his Lima hotel room.
Van der Sloot was free to travel because after the money was given to the 22-year-old Dutch national, the feds didn't promptly file charges against him. US authorities also did not ask that he be detained in Aruba, even after officials there warned that he was about to leave the island, the source said.
The failure to stop van der Sloot shocked and infuriated Holloway's mom, Beth Twitty. She had been "told that an arrest was going to happen before he left" Aruba, where he was the last person believed to have seen Holloway alive when she vanished, the source said.
Van der Sloot took his payola from the feds -- a $15,000 wire transfer and $10,000 in cash -- and went to Peru to play poker, the source said.
It was only last Thursday -- hours after van der Sloot was nabbed on the lam in Chile for Flores' murder -- that federal prosecutors in Alabama announced they were charging him with extortion and wire fraud in the Holloway shakedown.

Because this poor lad has a sensitive stomach his food will be brought in from the finest restaurants in town. He will only wear the jail garb when interviewed by the press, the rest of the time his clothing will be top of the line.
Once or twice a week bribed jail guards will take him out on the town to the clubs and what not.

I think women who do this have HUGE self-esteem issues. It gives them the illusion they are in control when in reality they are anything but. They have a need to feel special. They want to believe that they have the ability to change someone, even a serial killer. I bet you a $100 that the great majority of women like this have "daddy issues". I also think they like the "danger" of it, they can feel close to danger but know that they will never be truly harmed because their serial killer is in jail for life.

Fights erupt all the time because of no separation...and most fights are provoked by the guards.
Far cry from those beautiful Aruba beaches.
Most Latin American prisons are Hell. Peru is one of the worst in the world.

I know the FBI had to build the case against him, but they messed up this time. I think many people didn't realize just how much of a loose cannon, crazy person he is. Natalee was bad enough. I am not sure they thought he'd be stupid enough to do it again. Now we have to wonder how many times he's done it. I just hope for peace for the families of both girls, and I hope they both can get some answers. Especially Natalee's family. I just can't imagine what the not knowing must be like.

From day one my thought was that this POS was a sertal rapist. DRUGGING , with the help of distraction by the "cowpie" brothers, girls who were scheduled tlo leave Aurba the next day. That Holloway was the first, or a very early death, and the creep liked he thrill. I suspected that, short of just doing the right thing and just killing the SOB and his enabler/mentor father, he'd go on killing. Seems he has.
