18-Wheeler Crash Closes Part Of Dallas Tollway

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) â€• Kust after 10 a.m. Wednesday, a Pepsi semi-truck crashed through a highway divider on the Dallas North Tollway and overturned.

According to North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) spokesperson Sherita Coffelt, the driver of the 18-wheeler was traveling in the southbound lanes of the Tollway at Beltline when the truck was apparently cut off by another vehicle.

Post by: jinxmchue on May 28, 2010, 02:55:58 PM: The car that hit the truck hit it TWICE -- the first time is a sideswipe at 1:03 just after the two vehicles appear. The second , harder hit comes just 2 seconds later. Must've been a deranged Coke fan.

Post by: Chris_ on May 28, 2010, 03:02:30 PM: That car bounced off that Pepsi truck and went right back into it. I did the same thing one time in a crappy Chevrolet pickup. I hit a guardrail doing about 40... it bounced me into the other lane where I hit that guardrail. It was like hitting a trampoline. The whole guardrail flexed and pushed me back into my lane.

The whole episode lasted about three seconds. Glad it was very early in the morning and the road was clear.
