Obama To Hold Press Conference On Oil Spill
The White House has announced President Obama will hold a press conference on Thursday and will answer questions related to the oil spill in the Gulf.
Obama will also announce new offshore oil drilling regulations. Obama wants a more thorough safety inspections of drilling rigs and more regulation in regards to the permitting process.
The President will head to the Gulf Coast on Friday, making it his second visit since the rig exploded and caused an environmental catastrophe.

this will be his first since last summer. Does anyone expect him to take many questions? I think one reason that he hasn't had many press conferences is that his handlers are afraid he will snap, show his temper and drive more people away.

I can see the reporters being handed a sheet of "APPROVED" questions and told to select one.
...and told what order to ask them so he doesn't get confused reading from the teleprompter.

All Signs Point To Yes

I think he'll rant about new regulations that are needed, and maybe throw some blame towards President Bush.
I would like to see someone ask him about the donations to his campaign from BP, then toss in a question about donations from AIG and the dropped charges against them.
Wishful thinking, I know.

How convenient.
A press conference as polls suggest he might be getting blamed for the oil spill
-
You can pretty well count on him either claiming credit for stopping it with the 'top kill,' or blaming BP and the oil industry for everything if that turns out to be a failure.
-
I may have been wrong about why he doesn't give many press conferences. I'm watching it and his answers to questions are so rambling and disjointed, that by the time he finishes, you don't know what he said and can't remember the question.
He's an idiot with TOTUS.
-
I did not watch it although I heard he got called on a couple of questions!! :lmao:

Rush played clips of snakeface saying Obama needs to do something, we're dying down here yesterday and then today saying its Bush's fault.
lol.
