PHOENIX – A police officer was killed after a shooting broke out in Phoenix this morning.

The incident began when officers were reportedly trying to conduct a traffic stop in the area of 19th Avenue and Indian School Road around 1 a.m.

The suspect in the vehicle, a Ford Mustang, eluded officers by apparently turning off the lights.

During this time, the suspect allegedly hit a parked car.

Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department said police then received a call that someone was trying to cover, and possibly hide, a Ford Mustang at a home in the area and additional officers responded to the scene.

Looking for other source. If true, this could get very interesting.

No word on the race of the suspect. Curious since Phoenix is one the liberal cities.

19th Ave and Indian School?  Nah, no illegals there!  (I may be wrong, but the law of averages sure as hell is on my side.)

A search for the suspect was launched and homes in the area were evacuated.

The Hispanic suspect, who Crump said is in the country legally, was reportedly found hiding in a shed in a backyard and was taken into custody. A weapon was also recovered at the scene.

That suspect sustained injuries from a K9 bite and a rubber bullet, according to Crump.

Spencer believes the suspect is from the Tucson area and has a criminal history.

Okay, so he's a legal immigrant scumbag.    He needs to go down.    :censored:

This story broke my heart.  I've been listening to KTAR daily since KDWN's streamer isn't working on my work computer.  Every time they said he left behind a two year old and two week old baby, I just wanted to cry.

I wish the police would have shot this suspect with hollow points instead of rubber bullets.

So tragic and so stupid. RIP officer. I wish your family peace as well. I hope your babies will know you died as a hero.

Rubber bullets. That is just insane.

Especially considering the guy had already shot a cop.

Makes me wonder if the left's lies about the Arizona bill are increasing the violence against police.

I have no doubts! Even if the guy was in country with a visa, he would be deported if he commits a felony! I'm sure if he was worried about being deported it influenced his decision to shoot!

It would not pay for me to be a cop cause once I got this POS in custody I would have force fed 9 rounds of rubber bullets down his throat.
