A coworker has a sticker on his car: "Vote Republican: Not Everyone Can Be On Welfare."
Know where we both work? Yep, a welfare office.
Okay, not only is his sick little sentiment just plain wrong and thoroughly uncompassionate. But how can he even begin to justify to himself working in a welfare office if he believes that?
What a ****bucket...

I dunno makes sense to me. The guy sees the fraud and abuse in the welfare system and he works with a DUmmy so he knows the entitlement mindset pretty well.

15. The inference is of course that liberals do not work.
A stereotype I happen to find REALLY offensive.
Well tough shit you cast much more offensive stereotypes at conservatives, racism, etc.

17. Yes. And he's one of those types who foists all his work on others...
and takes the credit for their efforts. A real douchenozzle.
In other words he must be the primitives boss. And the primitive resents having to follow orders.

2. Well I wouldnt be on welfare if the last republican president...
would have left us with a decent job economy so I could obtain employment.
Uh huh its all the fault of Chimpy. I thought Obama's laser like focus on jobs would have had you employed by now.

5. I have to agree with your assessment of your co-worker ... Updated at 7:10 AM
If it ever comes up perhaps you can tell him that if we vote Republican we will all be on welfare. The last bunch of creeping cruds put us right down here under the curb. Maybe he considers the Republicans to be job security. After all a lot of people have lost everything due to them and their anything for a buck policies.
How does that work? If repukes cut welfare how will we all be on it?

Well, what do you know? That makes him racist too.
Not to mention a Republican tool of RW media.
Yeah because we only get mad at blacks getting welfare. :mental:

Once upon a long time ago I worked for a welfare agency, the fore runner of CETA. This was during the national malaise later known as the Jimmah Carter mis-administration. Anyhow, the Center I was at offered the chance for one to get a GED or welfare to work experience, a novel concept to be sure, and one not without the usual abuses.
One day the Center manager comes in, looks at his secretary and says " Who the he&& owns that red Caddy convertible parked in my spot, and please don't tell me it belongs to one of the enrollees." She answers "Then you want me to lie to ya?" "NO, send them to see me Now!" What happened next was a pure drop dead gorgeous fox in a low cut cocktail dress saunters into his office and says "You want to see me?" Priceless. Jim's jaw probably was never the same after hitting the floor, she was that good looking. She moved the car and was one of the better enrollees to find a job for once. It became a Center legend frequently refereed to at staff "decompression meetings".

What the hell is a "decompression meeting"?

Hey, if the shoe fits, ****ers...

Funny that this came up today. Yesterday on my way to pick my son after school I saw a sign. The sign was at a major intersection "near" one of the "projects". It said "STOP welfare fraud now". I saw another near at another major intersection..... nice little signs but I'm afraid they're a waste of time and money.

Believe it or not the staff would get together to discuss the positive and negative enrollee events of the week. Then we would break out the duty bottle of Boone's Farm or whatever else was available. BTW Social Work is not without stress. I saw our toughest outreach worker brought to tears one day describing the living conditions of an abused, illiterate 18 year who was living with her elderly grandparents. Depravity at its finest.
It is ironic that this Center excelled at work placement, GED completions, and managed to turn a profit. Needless to say it was closed and the profit used to support one really doing its job, losing money like a drunken sailor. ( no offense to present or past drunken sailors :drunksailor: ) I left social work at about the same time for a number of reasons, that being one.
I have been a recovering liberal for over 40 years. One day at a time, one day at a time. :whatever:

Very true, but this is a perfect example of Liberalism. Do the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

Back in 2008, I had a second job as an overnight cashier at our local Walmart. (If you want to see what would be the equivalent of a circus sideshow, go into a 24 hour Walmart after 2:00am). My shift was from 9:00pm to 6:00am, and for some reason, I always got to work on the last day/first day of the month shifts. At exactly 12:05am, people started coming thru the checkouts with baskets LOADED to the gills. One customer piled so much stuff on the checkout belt, IT WOULDN'T MOVE! Another customer and his wife came thru with 2 shopping carts, totaling about $275. The same couple came back thru 3 hours later, with another 2 shopping carts, this time totaling $260. None of the other customers had less than $100 of groceries.
This madness went on from 12:05am until about 4:30am. And all of them had two things in common.
They all paid with an EBT (food stamp) card,
and they all were younger and more fit that I am.... :argh:
Your tax dollars at "work", folks....

I don't get off until 10 pm and Wally World is right across the street. Trust me, even at 10 the sideshows are hilarious!

Nothing like having someone who votes to have their freedom stripped of them in favor of gov't overseeing their daily life working to build military equipment.

When I worked at a grocery store, open from 7 to 11 btw, we had certain customers who would end up having multiple carts loaded down with meats and such. It looked like several families were shopping together for the whole month, but those food stamp recipients sure didn't look poor to me. They had a nice truck or was that trucks?

Cruise by your local welfare office and take a look at the cars in the visitors area of the parking lot.
