Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou (R) won the special election in Hawaii's 1st district tonight. He took 39.5 percent of the vote to 31 percent for state Sen. Colleen Hanabusa and 28 percent for former Rep. Ed Case (D).
Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou (R) entered election day as the favorite despite the fact that President Barack Obama took 70 percent in this district during the 2008 campaign.
National Democrats ceased spending money to win the seat last week after concluding a win was nearly impossible as neither former Rep. Ed Case (D) nor state Sen. Colleen Hanabusa (D) heeded calls to end their candidacy and stop splitting the Democratic vote.

Granted, the chances of him keeping that seat past November are virtually nil, but it's a nice bitchslap at Obumbles.
AGAIN.

There were 14 candidates splitting the vote.
Prop 14 in Calipornia would make every election like this.

Yes it WAS a bitchslap, wasn't it? Who knows, maybe he can survive November.
Not a peep about it at the DUmp.
