Not much more to the story... three small paragraphs.
A copy of the bill is here: http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText10/HouseText10/H8142.pdf

Rhode Island? Are they trying to keep out Canadians? :evillaugh:
Seriously though, I didn't think the upper New England states had problems with illegal immigration...I thought their train stopped at NYC.

One illegal alien in the state is one too many. I wish all the other states would enact a law like Arizona's, and maybe shame the next administration into addressing border/national security. Obviously, Zer0 is a lost cause.

Saratoga Race Course, 2 1/2 hours north of NYC, is crawling with illegals. ICE will make a raid there within the first week or so of the meet, which begins on July 23rd this year.
ETA: I wonder what the DUmp will think of a Dem state legislator doing this . . . :evillaugh: :fuelfire:

RI Rep. Introduces Immigration Bill Similar to AZ Law
Posted: May 20, 2010 12:39 PM CDT
State Representative Peter Palumbo (D-Dist. 16, Cranston) has introduced a new bill in the General Assembly that aims to crack down on illegal immigration in Rhode Island.
The "In Support of Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act" borrows heavily from the recently-enacted immigration laws in Arizona which have prompted some national outcry.
One provision of the bill states that if "reasonable suspicion exists" that a person is an illegal alien, the involved law enforcement agency must make a "reasonable attempt" to verify the person's immigration status with the federal government. Representative Palumbo tells ABC6 that immigration violations would still be considered a secondary offense, meaning that a person could not be stopped by law enforcement solely on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant.
ABC6 Anchor Andrew Gobeil has the details.

Considering that the Arizona law mirrors the federal laws already on the books, this is nothing more than grand-standing on the part of another DUmbshit congress-critter who thinks the rest of us are too stupid to get wise to what's going on. This is so that the Congress-shits can claim to have 'done something' about the illegal immigration in November, without having to actually spend political capital.
All 535 of 'em need to be lined up on the Capitol steps and posed for rifle fire. Damned traitors.

Er....this is a state legislator........

Not even close. NH doesn't have as much of one because it's so damned difficult to get public assistance. Maine, OTOH, has a shitpot full of illegals and immigrants on the dole. One mayor got in hot water a while back because he told people to stop coming...(who was that, zeit?)
Boston has as many illegals as anywhere, and not just from Mexico/Central/South America. Try upwards of 50K Irish "southies", and Obama's auntie, for starters.

Illegals are all over New Jersey and that ain't near the border. I think almost every state in the union has an illegal immigration problem, some more than others obviously.

Good for Rhode Island!! I hope more and more states implement this. Let's see Obama speak out against the entire country. I tell you what that would be ladies and gentlemen...Treason. And that's sure as hell impeachable.
