Glenn Beck Hits 2010 Ratings LOW

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/18/glenn-beck-hit...

Glenn Beck has hit a new low for the year -- literally.

Beck's Fox News program saw its worst ratings of 2010 Friday, averaging just 1.776 million total viewers. Of course, that's more than his competitors -- MSNBC's "Hardball" (528,000), CNN's "Situation Room" (481,000) and HLN's "Showbiz Tonight" (197,000) -- combined, but it represents a continuation of a trend that began last month.

For the month of April, Glenn Beck suffered his first year-over-year decline since joining Fox News in January 2009, declining 7% in total viewers and 6% in the demo compared to April 2009. Moreover, Beck shed 28% of his audience between January and April in both total viewers and the demo.

He is still beating the pants off of Tweety.  :lmao:

15. I think the boycott(s) of his show are having an effect.

And this is a good thing.

Uh huh sure.

5. Their sole reason for living seems to be to get Republicans elected, so

I guess it's OK with them.

I can't believe that many people still watch Beck, though. The man is seriously crazy. But, I guess it's like looking at a bad car wreck, you just can't not look.

I wonder how many watch just for the laughs?

Yeah because Beck praises the GOP every day  :lmao:
You dolts dont even bother to listen if you listen for even an hour you will hear him bash the GOP just as much as the dems.

Seems like Beck's ratings started going down when he started spouting talking points from Ron Paul.

I'm never home to see his TV show, and I admit that I stopped listening to his radio show on a regular basis.  I was getting a little tired of it after the '08 election.  I still catch him on the radio on occasion.

Where is Happy Fun Ball with the graph of the effects of a DU boycott? :evillaugh:

My problem with Beck is even when the GOP does the right thing he still bashes them. Rush and Hannity both will give the GOP props when they do right and call them out when they do wrong.

You are right he does use a lot of Paul talking points. I am petty enough to want him to be successful just because the DUmmies hate him though  :-)

Honestly if it weren't for Stu and Pat I would not listen to him. Stu and Pat add a lot of humor.  :-)

I freely admit I'm not a fan of Beck at all, I listened once in a while, but when he started taking up the Ron Paul talking points that was it.

I always liked that Tony-can't remember his last name right now-the big guy with the accent--whatever happened to him?  Oh, it was Blankley.

I'm a regular watcher, I DVR it, and catch a little of the radio each day.  I didn't really pick up on "Ron Paul Talking Points."  I mainly watch it for the history lessons, and the exploration of just who the hell is in the Obama regime.  It's very informative.  The Founders' Fridays are excellent, as are "Your Time to Be Heard," where Glenn talks to black conservatives, legal immigrants, etc.

I honestly do not understand why people call him "crazy."  Everything he presents is well-documented.  It's on video right there!  (Van Jones is an example).

I don't think he lies at all, I just don't care for him, then when he started all this Libertarian stuff, I just can't deal with it, I like a lot of things Libertarians stand for, but there are a lot of things they stand for that I don't like. And like someone else said, why bash the GOP when they do the right thing? it reminds me of Bill O'Reilly and his obsessive need to bash the right when he bashes the left.

I do too and I agree, I have learned more about history (that you can verify, not opinion) in the last year than I have in my other 42 years of life.  I love his Founding fridays.  It seems it is mainly people who don't watch him (regularly or at all) that call him a nut.

I think it's hard for people to see him at 5pm, especially with the warmer weather, and kids having so many outside activities, like ball games around that time.

I really like his shows, that have groups of specific people, and he gets their opinions.

I haven't heard him bash Republicans when they actually do the right thing.  Can you give me an example?  I have heard him beat them up when they do something stupid, he is an equal opportunity basher.  Sometimes I get sick of it when I am feeling like a DU'er and want to ignore reality.  I am to a point though that I don't care what party someone is from, I just want someone to do the right thing.  Hopefully Republicans in general will get their shit together.

Now on occasion he does get a bit "excited" and obnoxious but all in all he is very informative and tells the truth.  When I would listen to him back when he was just on the radio he would freak me out because he was so alarmist.  Now the majority things he warned about have come true and it scares the crap out of me the things he says are coming or already here.  I used to turn him off because he scared me, now I listen to him and take from it what I want.  If I think he is being overtly alarmist I ignore it but he has been eerily right more often than not.

I will give you one example when every Republican in the senate voted against the HC bill he continued hammering away saying how they are still progressives.

That could be the highest rated show on TV. As backups you could include Laura Ingraham and whate his name?? That one and only black conservative? (That was a joke, btw)

I seriously don't remember hearing him say that and I listen to him just about every day.  He does say that some republicans are progressives (and there are quite a few) but I don't remember him labeling all republican's progressive after voting against the HC bill.  He is getting a tad sensitive about the personal attacks he has received lately which kind of bothers me.  If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Ask Campbell Brown whether shows like Becks are doomed. Her show on CNN is such a ratings failure she resigned.

Oh and if Glenn Beck never does anything good in his life again...I will always love his show for that laugh he played the day after the 2004 election

Eliot Spitzer--I kid you not!

He does present solid investigations/history that are worth watching for alone.    I have fact checked some of his stuff and he is solid on what he presents.    He can be out there on some stuff, and he does lean heavily libertarian (I don't agree with him on some foreign policy opinions he has),  and the economy stuff does have a tad bit of chicken little sprinkled in -- that said, his show is a good one.

Eliot Spitzer!!  Now who the hell would watch that?  What does he have to say?  Who comes up with this stuff?  A sabateur?  So many questions!

Only tangentially related:  NYers, have you heard about a guy being considered for Lt. Governor for Cuomo?  Darryl Aubertine.  He's from around my neck of the woods.  A dem, but not really a moonbat.  A dairy farmer background, a straight-arrow type.  No sniff of scandal around him, which would be a breath of clean fresh air.

Yeah, if he spews Ron Paul talking points, then maybe Paul's been a bit more vilified then he shoulda been.

I don't watch his show every day, but often enough.  Despite some "akward" moments, I can't really think of anytime I've sat there and thought to myself "he's wrong".

Yeah, me too, his information is well researched. Oh, and EVERYONE'S ratings are down, according to The Wire (http://www.businessinsider.com/fox-news-glenn-beck-ratings-down-by-30-this-year-2010-4). Maybe people just aren't watching TV as much. I know I'm outside a lot more.

CNN's Anderson Cooper – down 41%
CNN's Campbell Brown – down 39%
CNN's Wolf Blitzer – down 37%
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann – down 28%
MSNBC's Headline News – down 26%
MSNBC's Chris Matthews – down 23%

I didn't include Maddow's 8% drop.  Those three people probably found something else to do.
