Quote
Nancy Marks, a psychic from Lafayette, Colorado, was arrested for fraud after telling clients their "money [was] evil" and that she'd take their cursed cash so "the money would suffer" instead. Marks made at least $290,000 using this scam.

Marks - who runs a psychic reading business creatively named Psychic Readings - warned victims that malicious spirits were haunting their bank accounts

Lamb, we have had a few cases reported and hundreds not reported of a scam in this and most likely yours also.

This scam targets middle age woman and goes like this.

Target is walking in parking lot of a bank and a distraught woman looking to be in their 70ies approaches them.  She explains she FOUND a bank bag near the bank full of money with a deposit slip from a major department store.

Now the woman tells the Target that her husband needs medical care and one of her grandkids needs a Kidney transplant.  The old dottering woman tells the Target that she knows the store will not loose any money due to insurance and she only needs half the money to keep her family alive.  She needs to split the money with someone honest but needs a good faith sign.  She also needs the Target to kick in a few thousand bucks to make the total enough to split in half.

The Con Artist waits outside the bank out of the way of security cameras and when the Target comes out with a few thousand dollars tells the Target she will need to wait right there while the woman takes the money to a van or car to split everything 50/50.

A diversion is staged to cause the target to take her eyes off the woman for a few seconds, when the target turns to look, the car  and woman is gone.

In the situation of the Target would you go to the police and complain that you and a strange woman were trying to defraud an insurance company when SHE ripped you off???
