Do you reckon that many conservatives think Reagan was divine?

They seem to think he brought about the fall of the USSR, because he said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!'"

http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/historicdocuments/a/teard...

If that is the case, too bad he didn't say, "AIDS virus, go away and never come back!" :silly:

Nah Reagan was mortal like all of us however he had the courage to stand up for liberty and freedom, and had the guts to stand up to the Russians. Unlike the clown in office who apologizes for everything the USA ever did.

1. Ahh yes Reagan who only played war heros in B movies that conservonuts mistook as

documentaries, just like Leave it to Beaver was about life in the 50's or the Flintstones were a real family out of the stone age. When the very best Republicon leaders they had before Reagan was Herbert Hoover, I guess a movie legend is better then nothing in their minds. The really odd thing is when asked about what great things Reagan did that is all they can point to, then act all confused when informed that he was out of office when the wall came down.

Yeah his resume is a joke compared to the community organizer and 10 minutes in the senate that we have now.  :mental:

And just so you know DUmmy we know the wall came down after he was retired. His policies helped lead up to that event. Just like you still blame Bush for things almost 2 years after he retired. We know the real reason the wall came down they knew in 2008 the wun would get elected and they were so scared they folded.

Well at least he didn't think HE was divine, unlike Lord of the Teleprompter. When you're Greek columns are made out of Styrofoam that should clue you in that you're using a prop.

I was just thinking, that's rich, coming from the people who sing hymns to their Fuhrer, who presented himself as stepping from Mount Olympus and claimed that he will stop the rise of the oceans.  The DUmmies practice a special form of projection, it's as if they live in the world beyond the looking-glass.

They always explain Lincoln and the anti-civil rights democrats as saying dems and republicans swapped. Idiots.

I'm a conservative, but I hated Reagan's politics. He was a cruddy actor for God's sake. Nixon, although evil, was actually VERY financially sound. I kid you not!

Uhm, Nixon was hardly evil and "Whip Inflation Now" was stupid beyond belief.  Oh, and get this, the real reason for Watergate was Howard Dean trying to retrieve the list of local prostitutes with his wife's name on it.

Ok what exactly do you hate about Reagan's politics?
The tax cuts, smaller govt, strong on national defense, pride in America?

I hope she's had her shots....

Let's not have a political fight here, because then we would have to keep scrolling over the boy king and that ferocious woman again and again.  We should go to fight club or something.

Well, the only way Faust was successful was to make a pact with the devil. His personal demon, Mephastophilis, followed him everywhere too. It appears in the intervening centuries he had a sex change operation and changed his name to Michelle.

DD, what does that mean?  I know a blogger who goes by the name of Viking the Kitten, or V the K.  Also, what does sniffing ozone mean?

"zot" is the term used for banning someone over at FreeRepublic.  I think a zot is usually preceded by pictures of viking kitties and some other post-whoring, but I may be wrong.  I don't linger there much (I'm only there for the headlines and ping lists).

I believe that "ZOT!" was something bad that would happen to a character in The Wizard of Id comic strip.

"Zot", "ozone", and "viking kitties" are all terms used on Free Republic....

This is a "zot":

"Zot" is what happens to trolls that post their stupid, inane, moronic, and typically liberal rantings and articles on Free Republic, and are terminated by a moderator.  The result of a "zot" is usually "ozone", hence, "I smell ozone"....

These are "Viking kitties":

They get to clean up what's left of trolls after a "zot", or, sometimes, the moderators let us play with the troll, and the kitties get their turn to play as well....

This happens if the troll is particularly stupid, we send in the kitties, THEN "zot".  Extraordinary stupidity should be painful, and we make it as painful as possible....

And when we have a guy who claims to be conservative, is in single digits on posts, and calls Reagan a "bad actor" and hated his politics, well...

Reagan was a man, a mortal man. He was fired in the trials and tribulations of his generation  and had the moral courage to do what was right. Ask the late Jane Wyman. whom Reagan was married to. His principled stand as president of the Screen Actors Guild cost him his marriage to Jane as well as any future movie career. Granted his career was on the downside by the time he was president of the SAG.
How many people would continue in a position after numerous death threats? Reagan did, and Jane said
bye.

Reagan was the best prepared person to be elected to the Office of the President of the United States.
his position as president of SAG, a paid spokesman for GE for close to a decade, his personal involvement in the Conservative movement, and Governor of the largest state in the Union for two terms, steeled Reagan for what he had to do as President.

Reagan is not loved because he is divine as the DUmmies would want to present. No, Reagan is beloved
because he was consistent in his beliefs of Americans and all people of the world are better off with out
the heavy handedness of Government intruding into the lives of free people. He is the champion of freedom and liberty still today. Listen to his speeches, even today they ring true and honest.

Reagan did a LOT of good for the military but I don't like a couple of things that he did; 1.) Granted amnesty to some three or six MILLION illegal aliens, establishing a precedent that will be difficult to overcome and 2.) He signed the 1986 gun control act into law. Those two things make me angry as hell towards the Reagan regime. Also, "Reaganomics" did a whole lot of good for the country, almost all the way THROUGH Clinton.

I think we can safely blame the '96 GCA on Reagans years in California exposed to the constant anti-gun environment there.
