I don't want foreigners in my house...
that's what a customer said to my husband this evening.
My husband got a call during dinner from a customer complaining about an installer that was to address a problem she has. She was very upset that the installer "sounded" foreign, and she didn't want any foreigners in her house. Through the course of the conversation she asked my husband to come and address the problem rather than the foreigner. My husband said of course he'd come and take a look at the problem, he then gave her his name (he's Hispanic). He said there was an audible "oh shit" sigh, and then she said "so you're a foreigner too?". My husband tried to explain that he's not a foreigner he was born in this country, she said "but you don't have an American name". My husband assured her he was as American as she is. But she continued on with the whole "foreigners are bad, not be trusted etc".
The call ended with her thinking about if she could let him in her house.
My husband had to be polite and put up with this ignorant sack of shit bigot. You could see that it upset him that she acted like this, and he had to take it (not a lot of jobs out there right now).
I don't think it would make a difference if he told his boss about the problem, because the company he works for is connected with Home Depot...need I say more.
I think these kinds of things are going to be seen more and more, and I blame the fringe right for this kind of stuff. They've made every bigot, racist, homophobe nut case think it's ok to say horrible things to whoever they deem to be "different/wrong".
I'm sad because I feel like we're going backward instead of forward.
I just felt like getting that off my chest. Thanks for "listening"
I could see my grandma being that way. Really.
My grandma is a tad racist too (and a Democrat) but even she wouldn't do what the OP said that customer did. The post is total BS.
I went on a service call once and had the customer call my place of employment because he didn't think we (my particular ethnic group) knew anything about computers.Weeeeeeeeeeell, your name IS "kenth" which is such an obvious....American name!!

practically every other person's name in this country is of other than WASP origin.

This is true, and it's what makes me doubt the story. What, unless you're named Illingsworth Chillinghead IV, you can't come into that person's home? You won't get any work done.
Anyway, now I'm curious as to Kenth's ethnicity.

"Fine, we can play somewhere else then. Oh, and your bouncy tale sucks ass"
"Head games, that's all I get from you, head games"
That's because he is a dirty white boy.
And he's hotblooded.
He's waiting for a girl like you.
How will he know with that double vision?
You are cold as ice though.
Well as long as it's urgent...
have we spoken before? This feels like the first time.
I wanna know what love is, won't you show me?
You are my juke box hero you have stars in your eyes.
But that was yesterday
and I am a long long way from home.
Hmm, I suspect that you're an agent provocateur
You must have some inside information
Well that finished my extent of knowledge of Foreigner, shall we do Kansas or Boston next? :rocker:
Mine too though I did cheat a bit and looked up foreigner online and only used songs that I knew. :-)
I have more than a feeling that I will be dust in the wind if we try Boston and Kansas. :-)
LOL, I cheated too, "Agent Provocateur" is the name of one of their albums, not a song. Foreigner was the first concert I ever went to.
It's been such a long time!
I caught that Inside information was both a song and album title.
Don't look back.
All I want is to have my peace of mind...
You can get that from a rock and roll band.
Even if you're just gonna hitch a ride.
Maybe Amanda will pick me up.
I've heard that she's smokin'
She loves foreplay.
Alright, that made me spit iced tea! LOL!
Hee hee and I'm out of boston songs now. I imagined to get past the third stage at least.
Journey would be a good source for this game, I think. I hated their "power ballad" era-we used to love sing "so now I come to youuuuuu with brooooo-ken arms"
Don't stop believing. Now if it was pink floyd, genesis, or the moody blues I would make this thread really long. :-)
I could do it with "YES" songs :) Jethro Tull titles would be a hoot too.
Are you as thick as a brick?
No just living in the past :)
Did you hang out with Cross Eyed Mary then?
