Title: our cat keeps eating the doorstoppers..
Post by: Lauri on March 19, 2008, 08:53:26 AM
Oliver is about 3 years old now and still full of piss and vinegar.. every so often we hear that *BOING* while he's playing with the door stops..

Now I notice that all the rubber stops that keep the doors from hitting the walls are missing..  :whatever:

Make him sit behind the doors.

ive considered that.. but it would make the 8 year old cry.

he also terrorizes the 15 year old cat who hisses and spits in protest every night around 3 am.

this is one of those cats that will shake the door in the jam if its closed. doesnt matter which side he is on.. he slips a paw under the door and rattles it til a human notices and opens the door. then he just walks in and out for 30 minutes or so..

everything is a game to him..  :thatsright:

Mines the same...he's a pain but hilarious to watch. He terrorizes our 65 lb lab. When he has had enough he lays on the lab and cleans her ears.

Sounds like Maggie...I swear this cat thinks she's a dog the way she follows me from room to room.

And when I head into the kitchen to do dishes or whatever, she sits on the edge of the sink to "help".  This cat is a nutcase, I swear.

i saw something else new from Oliver last night.. i unwrapped two steaks to put some rub on them. laid them on a plate with a fork to tenderize them.

turned my back and he was up on the counter licking the package the steaks had been in..

then he tried to drag the fork away to lick it as well..

our older cat, when he was younger, liked to sit in an empty room and just talk to hear himself.. it was LOUD.. but funny. :-)

Ours is the same. Comes when you call him or whistle for him, plays fetch...everything like a dog. We had the lab first so the cat was raised thinking it was a little lab I guess...it's funny.

Lauri, PetCo and places like them sell this stuff you wipe on hanging electronics wires to keep cats from chewing on them, maybe using it on the door stoppers would help?

My problem child Tucker used to do this.

We replaced the door stops with these:
