CLEVELAND – A U.S. immigration court has granted asylum to President Barack Obama's African aunt, allowing her to stay in the country, her attorneys announced Monday.
The decision was mailed Friday and comes three months after Kenya native Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama's late father, testified at a closed hearing in Boston, where she arrived in a wheelchair and two doctors testified in support of her case.
Onyango plans to apply for a work visa and can apply for a green card after she gets it, her attorneys said
uh yeah, she's gonna work for her housing and food NOW :thatsright:

Hasn't she been on welfare of some sort since she has been here?
-
Does this really surprise anybody ??
-
I have to wonder if Obama directly influenced that court in any way.
-
Not surprising in the least. The news would have been if she had be deported.

She has been sucking "ALL" the government tits every since she got here.

If you mean ...did he call up the court and ask for their leniency....probably not.
He didn't have to.
He's the president of the United States.
She's his aunt.
Cleveland OH is predominately Democrat.
No brainer what the court would do......it was just that taking the case to court...made it a legal and binding act to allow her a visa and work permit....though how much work she will do in a wheelchair at her age is probably debateable.

A work visa
They think the sheeple are stupid. I guess they are most of the time.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said the White House "had no involvement" in Onyango's case.
:lies: :wtf2:

Ms. Onyango, the half-sister of Mr. Obama's late father, moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. She didn't leave the country and continued to live in public housing in Boston.
Her status as an illegal immigrant was revealed just days before Mr. Obama was elected in November 2008. Mr. Obama has said he didn't know his aunt was living in the country illegally and immigration law should be followed.
Different strokes for different folks.

He is the President, if he wants his aunt to stay I'm pretty ok with that. Really does it matter? I'd like to think the Pres has pull.

It's not ok with me. she was here ILLEGALLY since the deportation decision in 2004, lived in Boston housing and I'm pretty sure that qualified her for other government bennies as well.

I understand the history, what are the security/ moral ramifications of the president's family being dropped off pennyless in another country? I realise you still don't care, and you don't get to decide either.

Well, as far as I can recall, OZero has a half brother living in Nairobi, Kenya on one dollar a month. SO, he already has a penniless relative living in another country. He doesn't give a rat's ass about any of his so called relatives and it's ridiculous to think that he cares about this aunt. So, all you good taxpayers, just suck it up that the INS decided to give his auntie here in the USA a free ride on your dime.
-
I am suprised she doesn't have a room in the White House like his Mother In Law
-
He wants his Aunt to stay, but what of his brother who's poor, broke, and living in a SHACK! I have heard nothing of Obama extending a hand to him.
On top of being a socialist who wants the country to mold to his will, he's a jerk. Honestly, who does well, and leaves their BROTHER out in the cold to suffer??
-
Obama can't find a way to get the rest of us to pay for him.

A shack? A shack would be a huge step up for him from the mud hut he lives in. :-)

Just trying to be nice. :lmao:

Just send him a few dollars; it's more than his brother has done. And while you are trying to be nice,

I wish I could. I barely have enough money to use a pay phone at the current time.

Sorry about that, Revolution, I truly am and I sympathize, having been there the first 20 years of my life. But, you will look back one day and realize you made it, and that hard times made you a stronger person than otherwise would have happened. Hang in there. I can't get my additional smileys to work tonight or I'd give you a virtual hug.

I know how you feel Rev. Believe me.

Same boat here. If my neighbor/ landlord didn't let us mooch off her internet and cable I wouldn't have either. :-)
-
I knew I wasn't the only one fallen on hard times, but damn... You guys hang in there too. I can see 2012 from my house. Though, there's a fair bit of debris in the way. :-)
The severity of my situation is amplified, however. Being visually impaired, unemployment is 78% for my kind in the BEST of times. Sadly, I had to move back in with my parents. Really irritating. I'm young though. I'm sure I'll bounce back at some point.

Yeah, Obama's Aunt and about 12 million other illegals to stay in U.S. ...
