Did anyone watch Family Guy tonight and see the Vietnam Memorial "joke"?

I understand in Family Guy nothing is off-limits ala "South Park" but occasionally it feels like it's trying too hard to be offensive. Which is a point shows like FG usually get to around the 4th or 5th season.

I usually let stuff like this bother me but I'm the son of a Vietnam Veteran and it struck me as crude, pointless and it made me angry.

I don't know, just needed to vent.

in fairness, even some of the dummys were appalled by this latest attempt of liberal, shock-humor.  and, of course, most others found it hilarious.

do not go to this link if you knew someone that fought in the Vietnam war.  do go to this link if you want to see how liberals want to present humor on television today.

It wasn't funny, and most DUmmies agreed.  However, Tammywammy said she chuckled.  Just for the record.

Offensive Jesus jokes: OK

Anti-Semitic jokes: OK

Insulting an entire nation and a generation of vets: OK

Mohammed in a bear suit: OMG run away, too much, too much!

What a bunch of sniveling pussies. They act as if they are so bold and so avant garde but at the end of the day they only want to joke bully people when they know they can get away with it.

Tammywhammy thought it us was funny?  I am so disappointed in her.

Of course it's crude!  You were expecting a special "Blossom" moment?

That was nowhere near as offensive as the crap that Macfarlane flings at Sarah Palin on a regular basis.

My cousin's name, and the names of his crew and passengers and many of his friends are on that wall, but I went to the link anyway. Unbelievable, but not the first time I've said that about that show.

Now THAT's comedy!

That is just so sick on so many levels. I wonder if the creators and writers of the show ever feel like they need to hire a body guard

There was one TRUE part.........

"Washington DC...the seat of government for the world's former most powerful nation."

And there was ONE funny part......

The "Obama Monument"   (for those who don't want to click the link, it was the same shape as the Washington monument, but twice the size, and black).

Rumored to be an area where his White heritage comes to the fore.  Not that I want to know.

Yeah really funny, just like Hogans Hero's was about a German POW Camp.  Way back when millions of people laughed at that show, I, young as I was would not allow that show to be seen on MY tv.

I am still waiting for Mell Brooks to produce his Hitler on Ice movie.

Let me guess, you didn't like the way it denigrated Germans by showing an overweight simpleton Sargent? Or the way it objectified Teutonic Braided beauties?  Or you just knew Bob Crane was really a budding porn star??

FG has to strain a bit too much for its humor for my taste.  I have rarely watched since season one.

Great day to sleep in and listen to the rain if the beagle will only cooperate........

Hogan's hero was satire they made out the Nazis to be a bunch of idiots.
Mel brooks got back at Hitler by making fun of him and Nazis.

I gather you are trying to say that Seth was doing something similar in that scene.

I have a warped sense of humor sometimes so I admit I chuckled, it was just so over-the-top stupid.  I don't think it's funny that the VC killed Americans, but it was like they were trying to mimick that scene from the "Untouchables" movie where Frank Nitti tells Elliot Ness that when he killed his partner that he "cried like a stuck pig," and then tied it in like war was some sort of sporting event where you are "undefeated."  But I've never watched the show, so a 30 second clip doesn't tell me a lot about how they do things.  Maybe they're trying to be like South Park.

Family Guy has its moments, but in recent years there have been about 7 minutes of shark-jumping excess in every show, twice that when they actually try to get political or 'Relevant.'

I see not one bit of humor in any POW camp run by anyone. If you ever get to meet a former prisoner of war, ask them how funny his captors were.

Better yet go visit Jane Fonda and ask her about all the smiles and laughter she heard when she visited one

Oh good grief Hogan's heroes was now offensive? Robert Clarey (le bou) was a victim of the nazis and the show helped him get his mental revenge against the nazis.
