I want to mention something about the West Virginia upset

Seated Congressman Alan Mollohan lost his Primary bid, and his seat in Congress, last night by a considerable margin, I believe it went 56% the conservative challenger and 44% of the vote went to the more liberal (but not by much) incumbent.

This is what I think is worth mentioning - Mollohan, the more liberal candidate, only won 6 of the 20 counties in his district but the 6 counties he won were the most rural and most remote in the district whereas the challenger, the more conservative of the candidates won biggest in the counties with the largest urban areas.

I'm going to go check and see if the clocks are running backwards because something in the universe isn't right

There you go again.  :whatever:

Considering that WV went for McCain (and W, twice) and "Sugardaddy" Byrd is dying, I say DUmmie ThomWV is starting to think he's living in the Twilight Zone about now....

Get used to it, Thommy.  More and more people are realizing that government run anything is pure stupidity on steroids, and liberals are becoming a dying breed....

Don't worry guys, if you show pictures of your hands and healing white light, all will be made whole again, and the skies will once again be kittens, rainbows, and Skittle-shitting unicorns.

I don't suppose that being one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington had anything to do with it.

:thatsright:  Never mind. Corruption is looked upon as a plus for DemonRats.

Here's what Thommy has to say about that corruption:

5. A couple of years ago there were hints, but nothing ever came of any of it
It was noted that Mollohan got too rich too quick - something to do with real estate deals. There was never any charge or even any hint than any charges might be appropriate. Not a word of it since, other than just smear campaigning against him as far as I can see.

Oliverio was Student Body President back when I was in college at WVU and he is from Morgantown, which is one of the state's larger cities. He is an anti tax, gun toting, pro- life Democrat who is hard on crime and against deficit spending. I have no idea how he feels about Unions, but I know with absolute certainty that the unions prefered his opponent.

I heard that when king zero came into power, investigations ceased.

Buttworm says something completely non-sensical, given Thom's description above:

9. Did the mining disasters have anything to do with it?
I mean sometimes people wake up to what mean bastards there are on the right, mean bastards who support the ****ers who don't care if their workers live or die.

From the CREW link.

Quote
Between 2000 and 2004, Rep. Mollohan went from owning assets of less than $500,000, generating less than $80,000 in income in 2000, to at least $6.3 million in assets earning $200,000 to $1.2 million in 2004. As of 2005, Rep. Mollohan’s reported personal assets were worth at least $8 million and his liabilities were in excess of $3.43 million. In June 2006, Rep. Mollohan was forced to file two dozen corrections to his past six financial disclosure forms. If Rep. Mollohan knowingly filed inaccurate financial disclosure statements he broke the law prohibiting false statements.

If anyone but a politician increased their wealth that quickly, they'd be audited by the IRS every year.

Oh my, they really are in denial. I wonder what they're going to blame the mid-terms on?

Outside of the larger cities (Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown), Diebold is just a name on an ATM....

Nah. 90% of America is rock ribbed leftist, ask a DUmmie. The GOP is lying and scaring people and tricking people into voting for them. heh. right.

I'm a little late to the thread. As a resident of WV, I can say the real reason Mollohan got tossed was he voted for obama care. Now understand... voting "irregularities" in WV are a given. The more rural the area, the more "irregularities" there are.

Molly couldn't buy his way out this time. The challenger, Olivero, is a long time state politician. He had a better "voter irregularity" organization.

ThomWV is an idiot.

Of course nothing came of it, Thom.  "A couple of years ago" we got a Dem moonbat for Speaker, and since then not even the most notorious and outrageous Dem tax cheats have gotten any further than having their cases sent to File 13 in the Dem-controlled House Ethics Committee 'For further investigation.'
