I think I may have seen another one of those religious hypocrites at a wedding.

At a cousin's wedding the other day, the minister was reciting his lines during the ceremony. You can't help noticing the emphasis he put on the phrase that MARRIAGE is between a MAN and a WOMAN.

It wouldn't surprise me if, in a few weeks, we read where the good reverend was busted for sexual crimes against juvenile boys or something like that.

As Rachel Maddow recently pointed out, it seems the louder these representatives of the church denounce the act, the more likely they are guilty of that act.

DUmmie bulloney is all incensed about the assumed "bigotry" of the minister vis'a'vis gays, simply because he read the wedding ceremony as it was written and has been performed countless hundreds of thousands of times before.

Bulloney then proceeds to display REAL bigotry as it trashes the minister as a probable pedophile, simply because he is a minister that adheres to the teachings of his faith.

Par for the course in the Hypocrites'R'Us land of the DUmp.

Total zero. Maybe even sub-zero. Can't be called a bouncy cause it didn't bounce.

But according to Biblical scriptures that too would be a sin.

How does the second sin exonerate the first sin? It is akin to saying, "he spoke dogmatically against murder but it was all for naught once he was found to have raped a girl."

No one has ever explained that to me.

Wow, now you can be a hypocrite because of someone else's thoughts...probably should arrest the pastor.

And yet, the "clergy" as a whole has less than half the rate of sexual predators found in the general population.  ::)

You can't possibly believe because the pastor was a male, he was a child molester? Seriously, what do you think the percentage is (she asks bracing herself for the answer because somewhere in the back of her mind she knows it's a terrible idea but like trying to kick a skewed slinky down the stairs she can't resist)?

I'll go look for the statistics when I have time, but as I recall them, about 5% of the general population are pedophiles or very serious child molesters, about 2% of Catholic priests are.

lol. I don't think 5% of the people are child molesters any more than I believe the old line that 10% are gay.

http://www.martinfrost.ws/htmlfiles/nov2006/pedophile1.html

In 1989 Briere and Runtz conducted a study on 193 male undergraduate students concerning pedophilia. Of the sample, 21% acknowledged sexual attraction to some small children; 9% reported sexual fantasies involving children; 5% admitted masturbating to these fantasies; and 7% conceded some probability of actually having sex with a child if they could avoid detection and punishment.
