Its a radio stations' site
(it wont stay at that web address)
Yesterday, a listener’s son was offended that his school, Klein Collins High School, displayed the Mexican flag prominently. His mother called to complain, and the school wouldn’t return her call. The student took the sign down.

The school pitched a fit, reviewed the surveillance tapes, found the student, and suspended him for 3 days. AND he has to pay for the flag. In light of the SF story of students sent home for wearing the AMERICAN flag because it offended the Hispanic students, I thought you’d like to know about a story closer to home.
Right here in our community. Feel free to let the school know what you think. You pay their salaries.
Klein Collins High School (832) 484.5500. Assistant Principal handling the case: Mr. Shelly Dick. Seriously.
Call Mr. Dick and let him have it. The Superintendent is Jim Cain.
You realize, I assume, that if a student removed – or even burned – the AMERICAN flag, they wouldn’t do anything about it, I’ll bet.

Have they no American Legion in those parts.?
No flag should fly above ours and if on a separate staff our flag should be taller then any other.

WOLVERINES! I try to get along with just about everyone I can, but the people that allow this crap to go on are really trying my patience. It should be well remembered what one disgruntled person can accomplish...Tim McVeigh comes to mind. Although I don't support his actions he should be remembered, people are getting fed up and that can be a dangerous thing. Remember to VOTE...

You know, I'm actually getting a real urge to burn the Mexican flag. And that's protected freedom of expression, that is. I've had it with this. Had it.
The Live Oak High School story has made me blow my stack.
http://www.morganhilltimes.com/news/265447-american-flag-t-shirt-controversy-grabs-nations-attention
"It's disrespectful to do it on Cinco de Mayo," said Jessica Cortez, a Live Oak sophomore. "They can be a patriot on some other day. Not that specific day."
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? WE CAN BE PATRIOTS ON ANY DAY WE WANT IN AMERICA. IN OUR COUNTRY, OURS, GOT THAT?

Watch it, under this regime, you might get arrested for terroristic threats against illegals.

I understand the school administration's decision completely: they are mental midgets, easily intimidated by an out-sized population of aggressive intruders who pay little-to-nothing for the education their children receive but who demand and receive special consideration...and probably with an undercurrent of 'do things our way ... or else.'
The Mexican flag should not have been flown at all at a US taxpayer-funded facility...display it somewhere in context appropriate to the 5th May holiday...but that display should exist only if the school recognizes national holidays from all of the various national groups at the school.
In short: the kid got a bum rap, the school administrators are pencil-necked geeks & twits...oh yeah, and gutless, too.

What Mexican holiday? This is some small time celebration in one state of Mexico commemorating a victory over the French. Mexican Independence Day is September 16th.
I asked a Mexican neighbor if she knew what Cinco de Mayo was about and she laughed and said, "Why should I? I'm American." Her folks have been in the states longer than mine.
I agree the kids got a bum deal.

A Mexican neigbor was flying a Mexican flag over his house a couple of years ago. I won't go into details but he doesn't do it any longer. The message was received loud and clear. Bastards.... :banghead:

This country is turning into bizarro world. As much as I loathe and despise the illegals, I hate their excuse-making American citizen enablers much worse.
American citizens who put every other country in the world above her should be given a one way plane ticket to the "paradise" of their choice and leave this nation in the hands of those who desire to be Americans.

Umph. You know, one word that has been used more than a few times to describe my posting is "chilly." It isn't that I'm all sweetness-and-light with libs--far from--it's that I usually seem relatively passionless, by comparison to writers like Allosaurus and others. My style of lib-attack is usually more of "look for the stupid thing they said and use it against them"--and there's always a stupid thing inside a lib post, or lib position if you're not responding to a post--than "shred 'em." But sometimes, sometimes...not often...I give in to my inner shredder.
Still, I've written more than a few times (elsewhere) that those who burn American flags are actually showing how powerless they really are--burning our flag is a futile gesture that accomplishes nothing but some emotional catharsis. That is, nothing concrete is accomplished against us, and in truth I laugh at the mideast street garbage in the Arab world who burn our flag. They're pipsqueaks.
So, in giving in to the emotion of the moment, I nearly assigned myself pipsqueakhood. We are not powerless against this anti-patriotic nonsense, and we'll show the enemy within just that in November, and again in the following two Novembers (there must be some senate races occurring in 2011).

As they say with addictions, the enabler is just as bad.

If they salute another flag, then make them go there.

WE celebrate Oktoberfest in many areas of the US (another "drunkfest") and people don't get all bent out of shape when the American flag (or representations thereof) are worn or flown during that celebration. I think that people are just looking to be offended about any little thing any more. Since the evolution of political correctness, it's given people the justification to whine about any little thing that would have been laughed off or ignored 50 years ago. This entire thing is way blown out of proportion and the School staff, mainly the vice-principal, should be fired and/ or disciplined. Until I was transferred to California, Cinco de Mayo was just another day here in the US and I grew up in Texas. I once had a horse named, "Cinco de Mayo". Why?? That was her birthday.... People have gotten really immature about things these days and it's only getting worse. Hell, I remember the days when using the N word towards a black person and they'd just ignore it and carry on with what they were doing. We (the US citizens) are allowing a small minority to rule the majority. All of this commotion and nonsense over what is a minor "holiday", at best, in it's country of origin.
