Is he a white man in his 40's who is reacting to all the oppression and hatred directed at his people?? Did his house get foreclosed on?

Well, considering the state demographics, if it's gonna be a white guy...

I just saw that too. Does that affect your commute Sparky?
-
The bus was en route to NYC from Bangor, Maine.

I'm off today, so no. My normal commute doesn't take me through downtown Portsmouth anyway, but it might play hell with I-95 later, who knows. I do know that intersection is gonna screw up traffic downtown but GOOD.

If it turns out to be some clown that was just making a joke, he should still be charge, and forced to pay for the emergency responders.
-
There's a Breitbart article that says that passengers are being escorted off the bus with their hands in the air.

I didn't find out until the wife got home and asked how the Mexican stand-off down town was going. I had been totally off line all day installing a switch and new printer / scanner. Heard sirens and coppters earlier but assumed it was an accident on I95 with med flight.
Good video on CH9 WMUR which I just saw. I am no longer working my downtown gig.
Wife's first comment was "The Bangor Portland New York" connection. Deja Vue all over agin.
Wonder what ever happened to Peace?

The standoff is still happening??

Oops sorry about the vague reference :thatsright:
Peace (through superior firepower) use to post on a site in P_town and was intimately familiar with P_town law enforcement. The site burned up in the atmosphere and exists now only in the ether-archive.
That said, you are correct.

For those that have never been up this way, let me describe Portsmouth.
Very small town, 25,000 , extremely old, most of the streets have the front door of the houses about 3 feet from the curb. You cannot walk but 5 feet without running into something historic, very people friendly.
Pet friendly also as most people have a dog at their side as they sit outside in the warm weather eating and drinking at tables outside the restaurants, dog under the table. The down town area is in the square, all one way traffic and the streets going into the square are 2 way, very narrow.
It is extremely unusual to find a store front empty more then 2 weeks. Most businesses are small run with dog treats at the cash out for those that shop with their pets. Some very unusual shops that are New Age to down right big city Funky.
Used book stores everywhere and they do a bang up business. For some reason the people with dogs most likely have a book on hand to read. There are horse drawn carrages parked in the square for 10 hours a day, I have no idea why I have yet to see any horse leavings in the streets, makes me wonder how they pull that off.
MONEY lots of it, a one room combo goes for $1,500 a month with no utilities.
One can sit on the river bank and watch the Subs come in and out of the shipyard across the river in the State of Maine. The Coast Guard has swift boats that keep the river free of idiots, huge LPG tankers come up the river as well as the Tall Ships, what a sight.
Nice place, occasionally a purse snatching or bank robbery, a few murders through the years but except for 3 or 4 the police who know everyone solve the crimes.
This bus incident is like, for this town "Terrorists come to Mayberry"
At this time almost 8 PM I have no idea if the cops got the man off the bus but I do have one question.
I drove a bus, a school bus, and I had 45 lives to look after. Question was why the driver abandoned his passengers. He/she could have told everyone aboard there was a problem with the engine and asked everyone to step off. Then called 911.
This is akin to a pilot being told there was a bomb aboard strapping on a parachute and leaving by the back door.

That is amazing where are some peoples brains

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. --
Nine hours after a standoff centered on a bus in Portsmouth began, a man believed to be the last passenger on the vehicle emerged.
The man, wearing camouflage pants and no shirt, walked out of the bus at 8:36 p.m. with his hands raised over his head. He stood at the door before lying on the ground for a few minutes.
The man then stood up and went to the front of the bus, where he got back on the ground. Officers approached him with guns drawn to take him into custody.
"The man that has been on the bus is off the bus. He is in custody," said Capt. Mike Schwartz. "Nobody was injured."
Portsmouth Police Chief David Ferland said investigators would not have specific information to release on the man or the incident until noon Friday. But he said there was no reason to believe the incident was connected to terrorism.

A misunderstanding...

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — The passenger at the center of a daylong bomb scare on a Greyhound bus in Portsmouth, N.H., was a foreign national who was too scared to get off the bus, a person with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press on Friday.
The person, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly, said the bomb scare was sparked by another passenger who called 911 believing a non-English-speaking rider had mentioned a bomb.
The 911 call around 11:15 a.m. Thursday prompted authorities to evacuate buildings and streets and to surround the bus with a bomb squad and sharpshooters. The other 16 passengers and the driver got off safely, but the non-English-speaking man refused to leave until about 8:40 p.m

Well Yippie-Do, no terrorism involved here, move along folks.
In the name of God, what is considered a terrorist attack.?
Is it only a terrorist attack when property is destroyed, is it an act of terror if a crazy neighbor sets fire to all the cars on the street.?
Can people be arrested for plotting but not carrying out a plot to cause terror.?
Is yelling fire in a theater an act of terrorism or free speech.?

Chief David Ferland, nicknamed "Lou" by the former Chief is beginning to look a bit more like Clancey Wiggam in that video, of course they say the camera adds twenty pounds. ::)
The new headline should read "Two bums rousted riding Graydog" All's well that ends well and everyone got to use their shiny toys. At the moment it seems much ado about nothing. The cops have been facing a severe budget cut this year (as have all departments which is not really a cut just less of an increase) so they will probably point to this as proof of why they need all the fancy toys and OT. I still have a hard time with that much law enforcement but I guess it is better to err on the side of caution.
BTW
Vesta Darlin, l do believe the Hansom Cab has been gone from downtown for sevral years now; and, Gilleys no longer parks in the square at night ... you need to get out more. But, you can redem yourself by answering this simple question: "What do you call an Amish man standing behind the buggy horse with his hand up its arse?"
Answer:
A mechanic!!

Gilleys has been gone from the square for at least 20 years, last I saw the place was parked by the parking garage. BTW I have photos of both grandfathers in WW1 uniform in front of the place when it was parked by the Church.
The Hansom cabs will be out by the church soon as the weather gets warmer.
About our Cops, Portsmouth had to call in police from other Towns as they had all the toys, robots, sharpshooters that the small towns can afford.
Unfortunately Portsmouth police have still to give up the over time for road work flagers to allow company's to use their own personal.
