Title: David Boreanaz Admits to Cheating on His Wife
Post by: thundley4 on May 04, 2010, 10:28:31 AM
Quote
'Bones' star David Boreanaz is joining the Tiger Woods' club of infidelity. (Other members include Jesse James and Tiki Barber.)

Boreanaz admits to PEOPLE that he was unfaithful to his wife of 9 years, Jaime Bergman. "Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible," he revealed.

The actor is coming forward because his former mistress threatened him. "I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion."

He says now he's focusing on Bergman. "We're working on our marriage. We're working on repairing what has been damaged so badly."

According to TMZ, the woman hired Gloria Allred, who contacted Boreanaz's lawyer, demanding money. Rather than pay up, the actor came clean.

This story may not be all that interesting, but if that bold part is true, then wouldn't Allred be committing a crime ?

Depends on why.  Remember, this is California, where one can (and does) get compensation for being in a long-term relationship, even without matrimony.  Anybody here remember Lee Marvin and his "palimony" lawsuit?

Now, if it were a case of, "Give us money or we're telling your wife," then yeah, she should be in prison about 1/2 a second before she gets disbarred.

I remember the palimony, but if she doesn't ask for any money since the story is now common knowledge, then it seems like it was extortion.  I'm not sure palimony would fit the category of having an affair with a married person, though. I thought that came about in situations where the people lived together, and one was "taken care of" financially by the other.

But if he OFFERED, either in writing or orally, then it could become binding.  Granted, she'd have an uphill battle, and I'm more than a little suspicious when that publicity hound hag Gloria Allred is anywhere within 10 miles of a microphone or camera, but there's always that chance.

Then again, why any semi-ethical lawyer would even want to be part of this is beyond me.

so if the mistress hadn't threatened to spill the beans then Boreanaz wouldn't have confessed?

Wow, what a stand up guy.

Fellas, keep that ding dong tucked away.

I think the last time I agreed with anything Allred did was when she spoke out for the Goldman family against OJ.

Maybe there is a child involved.

Awful lot of women out there sure seem to want it known they were screwing married celebs.... ::)

Since it has no effect on my life...I really don't give a rat's patoot....it isn't going to make me watch, or not watch, "Bones" , David Letterman, or golf tournaments, etc.

However....I do have empathy and sympathy for the wives involved. Everybody has an opinion, and most have no trouble in making sure that they tell the wife what it is, along with any bit of gossip they have whether it's true or not. :(

When did Gloria Allred trade in her feminist credentials to become mafia enforcer for dumb sluts?

More succinctly, lawyers love chicks that dig men with money......depending, of course, on how deep the "digging" went.......

I would have thought she would have sided with the wives...rather than the sluts that go after other women's husbands.  :clueless:

She only takes the wives' side when they are wanting a divorce.
