We had some thunder and light showers early this morning. :uhsure:
Is that a drainage ditch that goes under the road or a small creek?
-
Sucks, bro--but this too shall pass.
Was a beautiful day here. Got the lawn mowed early enough while it was still somewhat cool.
Tomorrow is gonna be a warm one--they're predicting mid-80's, and I'm guessing that will also mean afternoon thunderstorms.
-
Pretty warm for us, too. Tired out The Heiress at a local park for about two hours. Storms are supposed to come late tomorrow afternoon.

Yup--Laddie followed me around all over the yard as I was mowing (when he wasn't eating stuff he shouldn't) and then got to chase the tennis ball around after I got back from Home Depot. He sure can snore loud.
Maybe I ought to pay him back for waking me up at 5 this morning.

That's a large drainage ditch that normally has a couple inches of water in it. It's about five or six feet deep. I've never gotten close to it, so I don't really know.
Holy shit. Even my detours had detours... took me forever to get home. Part of my road was flooded out so I had to drive down Hwy 31 to the other end and head back that way.
-
Crap!!! Did the entire Mid-South get drenched and have storms??? I should pick up a phone and call home....
-
You might want to do that.
You know it's nasty when the local radio station breaks into their regular programming to air 3 hours of traffic reports. :( Damn, I can't believe it's already 8:30. I wasted my whole day stuck at work.
-
We've had over 10 inches in the last 24 hours, which is amazing for a weather system with no hurricane involved. I'm gonna run up to Belle Meade and ask Algore what's going on. Oh wait, I think he's at his new Hollywood house this week. It's kind of surprising no Mid-South DUmmies have been buzzing about how this rainy spell is proof positive of American-caused global warming. Without coal-burning power plants, this would have been a gentle spring shower.
-
Belle Meade was flooded earlier today... Algor wouldn't have been going anywhere. The TDOT camera at I-24 and Bell Road was out last time I looked. There are always dumbasses running into the ditch on Harding Road, but I've never had that many problems trying to get through one area.
-
Most of what was supposed to hit here yesterday and today went east of here.
-
God, I hope things have cleared up by now. I need to go to the store for some staples and I don't feel like spending an hour in my car again.
-
It's raining AGAIN. 440, 65, and 24 are all shut down... the interstates that are still open are a parking lot. City bus service has been suspended. I'm glad I still have power.

Splat. Right on top of us.

Son is over your way, Chris, in Murfreesboro. He went over early yesterday evening with three friends to Runnin' Buddy's son's for a pool kegger party.... ::). I got a text from him last night at 10:47, my time, that they had no wind, rain, or anything. Haven't heard from him today...wish they'd get home. :(
Right now, we still have the sun out, and it's 82.....my kitterkat that's afraid of storms is curled up next to me, and has been following me wherever I go in the house. That's a bad sign. She's like our personal barometer, hates storms, and I guess she comes to me for "misery likes company" as I hate storms too.
We're only supposed to get 2-4 inches....I heard you have gotten between 9-13 inches over your way!! :o
It's like it's stuck over there as long as it's been hanging around.....
Stay safe, Chris...

I went outside to look around. Things have not improved, but at least they haven't gotten worse. Very slow-moving weather.

OMG
-
Just looked at an updated map....doesn't appear to have moved at all....your rainfall totals are unreal!!!
Son is home....they didn't have any rain coming home from over your way.
It's like a wall at the edge of the storm holding it in place.....weather guys said to expect it here around 3, but the only change here is that the wind is occasionally picking up and the temp's up to 88....
-
ha ha ha... listen to these good ole boys. Can you believe those dumbasses are standing ON the road while it's falling apart?

:thatsright:
The rain hasn't moved at all. It's still here. The rainwater is almost up to my doorstep. :(

Debk, I lived in Lewisburg for 2 years, so am familiar with Murfreesboro, and spent a year in Hendersonville. 1 street back from Old Hickory lake.
In Lewisburg the dead river was about 2 miles from us so I am wondering how people handled the water snakes that must have been a problem.
-
Hendersonville is flooded, just like everywhere else in the area.
