"Lawmaker's AARP criticism appreciated"
AMERICAN SENIORS ASSN. HONORS SENATOR CORKER
ATLANTA -- "U.S. Sen. Bob Corker is to be commended for declaring he would never join the AARP -- an organization he says 'has done as much to hurt our country for the long term as any organization that I know,'" says Stuart Barton, President of the American Seniors Association (ASA) representing hundreds of thousands of members nationwide.
"This national lawmaker's criticism of the left-wing AARP is much appreciated. We intend to present Senator Corker with our first "Defenders of Seniors Award" for his principled stand against socialized medicine as well as for exposing the AARP's betrayal of senior citizens and, indeed, all citizens through its blind ideological support of Obamacare," Barton says.
"The AARP sold out to Democrat congressional leaders and the White House. Senator Corker is the latest voice in a growing chorus of criticism of both Obamacare and its AARP cheerleader. Indeed, the AARP continues to lose thousands and thousands of members because it stabbed seniors in the back by supporting a huge Medicare cut, billions of dollars of new taxes on medical devices and prescription drugs, and government controls that destroy the traditional doctor-patient relationship," Barton says.
"The ASA continues to receive many torn-up AARP cards in our mail and our alternative group's membership is rapidly growing every day," Barton notes. "We salute Senator Corker, and extend to him a complimentary ASA membership."

AARP is a huge gun control advovate and spends a considerable amount lobbying for it and donating to candidates who favor it, I suppose it goes to a 'Security' issue but I would rather have freedom than live in a society where safety and security trump individual liberty.

Security? One would think a group that advocates for the elderly would be all for said old folks having access to guns to defend themselves in their homes against younger, stronger criminal types.

Yep. Logic means nothing to 'em. Without any guns, we'd just have a lot more fearless criminals committing strong-arm robberies with impunity, ironically AARP members would be a prime victim group.

Absolutely right Doc; however, my original meaning was that AARP's position on gun control ALONE was sufficient to ensure I never join up with the entitlement-lobbying Liberal sonsabitches.

AARP sells standard and Medicare supplemental health insurance through United, one of the biggest players in the insurance market today. Even if Obamacare had failed, they still stand to make a bundle of money for themselves.
