Obama not getting the love
Fifteen months into the reign of President Barack Obama, who promised to restore trust and civility to government, and Americans apparently aren't getting his message.
An exhaustive Pew Center survey finds that a record 78 percent of Americans don't trust government, and feel it has gotten too big and too powerful.
No wonder. Obama has expanded the government by one-third so far, with plans to grow it even more on the drawing board. Americans just witnessed one of the most arrogant displays of political power ever in Obama's cramming through of his health care bill by any means necessary.
Taxes are set to go up substantially, as are deficits, and more than $1 trillion on spending to stimulate the economy and stop foreclosures hasn't accomplished either goal. What's there to trust?
The good news for Obama is that the rest of the world loves what he's doing.
A new survey by GlobalScan/PIPA finds the United States' negative rating has declined markedly since Obama took office.
Of course, this is the same poll that ranks the democratic Israel nearly the same as it does Iran and North Korea.

Americans dislike BO's policies. No surprise there. November can't come soon enough to end this reign of socialist BS. The Rs better go hard conservative and kick Dem ass.
Maybe BO intended to get the world the love him. After all, he is weakening America and the world loves a weak superpower.

I don't think the rest of the world wants to see BO run our country into the ground, otherwise they won't get their FREE handouts (foreign aid). :cheersmate:

Most of Europe would be happy to see the US weakened in any way. They tend to disregard the fact the US is the main protector of Europe.

Relentlessly blaming the previous administration for literally everything, including the consequences of all of your own party's past misconduct and corruption and your own bad judgment, and then dealing with your own obvious failures by demonizing your legitimate opposition, is not a particularly effective way to restore trust and civility.

The party of the President, follows the President's attitude.
First president I remember was Eisenhower, so I've seen a lot of "presidential behavior".
I have never seen anyone so lacking in appropriate behavior befitting a US President, than Obama.
He has never stopped campaigning, nor has he crawled out of the vindictive, blame the other side for everything gutter of politics.
He won the election, 18 months ago....he has reaped the benefits of being president for 16 months...yet he apparently has yet to learn how to be and act as a president.
Really...it's pretty sad.
I don't think it's just Republicans that see this either...I think there are a lot of Democrats and Independants who are realizing this too.

Nailed it. He has no experience at running a lemonade stand, much less, the strongest country in the world. Bigger problem, no one in his cabinet has a clue, either.

Tiny.....do a copy of your response, then delete it out of the quote....then paste it after the [/quote] and it will show as your comment to my post, instead of looking like your comment was mine. :-)

Or behave like one. He embarrasses me as an American nearly every day. I sure don't recall Bush verbally attacking the citizenry that didn't agree with him....................in public forums.

That is the thing about Obama that I just don't understand why he's doing it.
Everything else that he's doing that I disagree with...I chalk up to his political agenda.
But to attack the people....not other politicians...but just normal everyday people...I don't understand what he hopes to accomplish. He's like the nasty bully on the grade school playground. Why?

You answered your own question. Just watch him. There are times when I have the feeling that there's a bunch of anger just below the facade he portrays. Especially when he gets, OMG......................QUESTIONED.

Yeah, I know.
His current attitude toward opposition, is so blatantly the reverse of all his campaign speeches of reaching across the aisle and playing nice.
While it may not hurt him with the Democrats....eventually it will have an effect on most Independents.

Remember when the man child got bent out of shape when the press wouldn't let him finish his waffles to ask a few questions? He's the least-qualified person in any room he walks in to.

I saw BO at my son's graduation commencement at the U of M Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to hear a number of boos and many people did not clap or stand up for him. The response from the students was interesting. Most of the liberal arts students showed the love, but the engineers was merely polite.
BO gave a speech about being civil to your political opponents and making an effort to hear opposing viewpoints. Yet, he is not civil or willing to hear opposing viewpoints.
What kind of person makes statements with conviction, yet does not believe a word he is saying?

This is the result when one elects a 2 year senator who voted PRESENT for President. He's a novice, an ignoramus and he does not belong in the same category as prior Presidents.
It's like promoting the mailroom clerk in a big Fortune 500 company to CEO after 2 years of service.
Thank the dumb americans who voted for him.

Hi,
While I agree with all written in this thread, I think there is a bit more to things. Not only do they dislike the message, meaning the direction the country is headed, but the public is terrified of the methods being used to accomplish things. Bluntly, they are operating like Chavez in Venezuela and that has caused just as much concern with mainstream America as the agenda. You have the message, messenger and methods and he fails with most of the country for two of those three for sure.

Yes, I agree, there is more to it...but I was mostly responding to Deb's post on his attitude. He definetly has an agenda to accomplish and an ideology to promote. The only problem is......people aren't buying it.

A liberal.

I have noticed that too, on several occasions.
I think part of that anger, that seems to be more obvious as time goes on....is because he thought the country would all fall in with those who voted for him and just adore him.
That hasn't happened...in fact, the opposite has happened. The more he speaks these days, the more people there are who are not buying into his "goals".
He doesn't know how to cope with the loss of adoration that he feels he, and he alone, is entitled too.
There are hundreds of books on people who, when they did not receive the adoration that they felt they were entitled to....have committed horrendous acts. Just sayin'.........

...and from the looks 'chelle gives him, he ain't get'n none from her either.
:rotf: :rotf: :rotf:.....

Obama lies so much he makes Bill Clinton look honest.

And now this . . .
Poll: Obama has Lost Almost Half of his US Jewish Support
by Gil Ronen
Follow Israel news on and .
United States President Barack Obama has lost nearly half of his support among American Jews, a poll by the McLaughlin Group has shown.
The US Jews polled were asked whether they would: (a) vote to re-elect Obama, or (b) consider voting for someone else. 42% said they would vote for Obama and 46%, a plurality, preferred the second answer. 12% said they did not know or refused to answer.
In the Presidential elections of 2008, 78% of Jewish voters, or close to 8 out of 10, chose Obama. The McLaughlin poll held nearly 18 months later, in April 2010, appears to show that support down to around 4 out of 10.
The poll showed that key voter segments including Orthodox/Hassidic voters, Conservative voters, voters who have friends and family in Israel and those who have been to Israel, are all more likely to consider voting for someone other than Obama.
Among Orthodox/Hassidic voters, 69% marked 'someone else' vs. 17% who marked 're-elect.' Among Conservative-affiliated voters the proportion was 50% to 38%. Among Reform Jews, a slim majority of 52% still supported Obama while 36% indicated they would consider someone else. Among Jews with family in Israel and those who had been to Israel, about 50% said they would consider someone else, while 41%-42% supported Obama.
Lose the Jewish vote . . . a reliably Democrat constituency . . . and it's pretty much over. The money they donate will follow them away.

I disagree completely with the bolded part. Americans are getting The Obumblers message and they don't like it.

Like it or not, though, he will still have upwards of 95% of the Black vote, purely on racial affiliation, without even getting to the 'free ponies' issue. The only question with that voting block will be whether or not he has screwed things up so royally that they just find something else to do that day instead of dutifully trooping to the polls to rubberstamp the "Man of (The Right) Color."
