wow.

I bet the DUmmies would do away with the Civil Service system and make sure they employed only Democrats.

Wait, they have pretty much done that already using union rules.

Mississippi never whined about their situation after Katrina. They just cleaned up and moved on. Years later, we're STILL hearing about how badly New Orleans had it and people are still whining, even though Mississippi got hit far worse than New Orleans. What a f'n moron rsmith is.

I would agree completely with the Little Goon *IF* our "system" wasn't set up so the good folks of Mississippi didn't have to send most of their tax dollars to Washington in order for Washington to use those dollars, or threat to withhold those dollars, as a tool against those same fine folks.

The little goons have to drive a wedge in everything, don't they?  Some fellow Americans lost life and property this past weekend, and off they go, classifying everything into left and right.  It's a disgrace.

My brother has lived in MS for pushing 30 years now.  He's got all that battening-down-the-hatches down to a science now.  Not one to whine, ever, he just gets the prep done in nothing flat.  Makes sure the neighbors are all set, too.

No problem...as soon as the citizens of NO ALL move back to their homes, rebuild ON THEIR DIMES, and apologize to the citizens of Texas and elsewhere for jacking the crime rates through the roof wherever they happened to show up.

My BIL and sister live down there, in Gulfport.  He's a Seabee.  My parents and my other sister (with husband) were there over the weekend.  Maybe I'll hafta ask them about their weekend . . .

Isn't that properly referred to as "Victims of The Bush Diaspora" created when Lord Rove, controlling the Weather Machine, created Katrina thus causing the Mississippi to course through levies weakened by Cheney's wicked underwater chicanery?? :lmao:

Has teh Wun made a tour of the area yet?   NO??  Oh my.

They're being transferred to a port about 50 miles or so north of LA, soon.  Such as in two weeks or so.  That's one of the reasons my parents are there--to help with the move.

That would be Port Hueneme.  Basically between Oxnard and Ventura.  Stay the hell out of La Colonia.

Nope they hate him cause he is Southern, white and has mush mouth accent.  That scares the dickens out of them since he fits their stereo type of redneck but has been very successful. (I think he was one of the best fund raisers the RNC had). :cheersmate:

I was going to say........... does this mean LA should take care of their own, rather than have the Fed give 'em a lollipop?? Oh shit! What am I thinkin'?

That spill could float towards Florida, where, despite what the papers may say, people are fully against drilling.

Putz does not even know what they are talking about.

Or St. Bernard Parish, where the WHOLE area flooded or Slidell. New Orleans would near recovery if it was not for all that politics and corruption, which so plagues that city. On that topic, SE Texas got whacked by Ike hard and things are back to normal for the most part. No politics and bickering.

Has anybody seen any of The Weather Channel coverage on this tornado?

They were still talking about it last night. This was a tornado that rarely happens...it was so extreme.

I saw a bit of it last night, and the guy was showing the weather map with the colors....the kind that shows storm intensity....that showed the storm. Where the path of the tornado was....the color was PURPLE! He said that was not storm...it was actually DEBRIS from the storm that was in the air. And the debris was flying up to 6000FT in the air!! The tornado itself was up into the 30,000FT+ into the atmosphere!!

Many of these people that were hit, had no place to go in their homes. They didn't have basements or storm cellars at their homes. They can protect themselves from hurricanes to a certain extent by boarding up their homes and going to hurricane shelters or further away. Tornadoes give little warning to duck and hide from the storm....and having lived through several tornadoes growing up in Tornado Alley....there is little to no way to protect one's property from a tornado.

Having lived in Kansas for a great deal of my life, I know exactly how these people feel. That said, tornadoes can happen anywhere the conditions come together to spawn one. Hell, we even had a small one up here in Spokane a few years back! We've always been told the mountains prevent them from forming. Hogwash!

pretty much kicked the shirt out of a little town called Deer Park!

Tornadoes happen in all 50 states, some states more than others, some A LOT more.
