Kal Penn robbed at gunpoint in DC
Edited on Tue Apr-20-10 01:44 PM by onehandle
Source: New York Post
The "White Castle" actor, who recently stepped down from a position at the White House, was robbed at gunpoint early this morning while walking in Washington, D.C., reports TMZ.
Penn told police a man carrying a gun approached him around 1:20 a.m. and took his wallet, along with other personal property, a source told the entertainment website.
Police are investigating the incident.
Earlier this month, Penn ditched his role with the Obama administration -- where he served as an associate director the Office of Public Engagement for nine months -- for Hollywood so he could resume his acting career.

If only he'd had a legal gun, he'd be dead now. And/or the robber would have gotten the gun too, and one more gun that started out legal, would be on the streets of DC.
This has been dis proven by several studies.

3. Never walk around DC alone at night
the sun goes down and that town turns nasty.
Same thing can be said about all strict gun control states/cities.

15. Do the criminals also commute? The Virginians don't seem to have quite this level of crime...

When I'm out at night walking, weather on a street or parking lot, I have my hand in my pocket and a gun in my hand.

62. Only cops in the bushes
If someone pulls a toy gun that looks like a real gun, in a threatening manner, he will get shot.
I love it.

D.C.: District of Crime.

Have you noticed the MSM will give this more press than what happened in NO?
As a matter where is the conservative press? NRO only gave what happened in NO a passing blog reference a couple days ago. Weird.

Perfect example of liberal mentality. "Don't put up a fight ... you might get hurt!!! Just let them have whatever they want. We can TEACH the criminals not to carry guns if they all know we won't fight. Then no one will get hurt they will just lose some stuff and it can all be replaced.
right?"
How do you replace; Innocence? Pride? Self worth? Self confidence? A child being the product of a rape? Trust? Faith in your own security?
Liberals like the one above make me sick.

A local convenience store employee who did exactly as the robber instructed was murdered execution style anyways, a bread delivery man who was there was also shot without offering resistance.

But, see. That is the problem with our current laws. That perp was probably looking at a three strikes kind of sentence, so he had nothing to lose by committing murder. Three strikes laws cause more harm than good. [/DUmode]

Does Texas have one of those laws? I dunno.

True story: Minneapolis, Lake Street: a man and his mother went out to dinner for the evening. A robber with a gun came up and demanded the man's wallet. The man complied, offered no resistance and the robber shot the man in the head. The simple solution is: if one uses a gun to commit a crime, no plea bargains, no deals, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do NOT collect $200. If one uses a gun in a crime and kills someone, instant death penalty. I guarantee you that gun crimes would go down. But nooooooooo, the courts have a f'n revolving door that allows criminals out of jail way before they should be. We need to return to the way the laws were supported in the 50s and 60s.

Check out this tale. Lady hired a hit man to kill her husband. He died 25 years ago, She's been in jail since. She just now got sentenced to the death penalty. Another 25 years to carry it out.

If someone tries to rob me at gun point they can expect a fight.I may get shot and I may die but I will go out standing, not on my knees begging for my life.

Only 5% of firearms discharges in the course of commiting a crime result in an injury to the victim. I like those odds. The sonofabitch that tries robbing me or my family had better hope that the cops get to him before I do.

I live in a not so nice area surrounded by Obama voters. I open carry while working around the yard at times and hubby CC's most of the time and his shirt will ride up sometimes while working on the Jeep and exposes his .45. There have been several home invasions in the area but none of the houses in the cul-de-sac around us or behind us have been hit.
The word on the street from what I understand is "Don't even try it because they will shoot you".

Hell I'll just say it.."Blacks are responsible for most of the violent crime" Not racist at all, just the truth.

It's a sad lifestyle, searching the streets for crack late at night. It's a good thing he doesn't do drugs, and add to the danger.
