I haven't even read this yet, but my immediate response would be "If I have my gun, I won't have to give up either".

If 'they' came to get your guns & bibles, which would you give up first?

My idiot born again brother swears up and down that President Obama is coming for his guns and bibles. He's always had bibles, but last year he bought his first gun when President Obama took office.
Me? You can have my bible, I don't give a damn, and I'm smart enough to know that no one is coming for either one.

I'm with you. I'd use my gun for anyone trying to take anything away from me that wasn't theirs. Last time I checked, that was called robbery.
-
I'd give 'em my gun.
Lead first. :evillaugh:

Sort of like our current commander and thief..... :banghead:

:hi5: Agreed 100%

Yeah, cuz it's not like the Obama administration has a "Consequence Management Response Force" that might be called upon to help with civil unrest or crowd control or anything like that...oh wait.

One piece at a time . . .

Given I don't own a bible and have no intention of ever getting one, they don't have that option..
Which leaves the guns.
Good luck with that.
:-)

Who is "they." I think that needs to be defined prior to making the call on what would be given up.
-
Neither....
-
Same here, but I'll give you what's IN the gun, 185 grains of P+ hollowpoint power at a time.

This is what the shrinks call "masturbation fantasy." Get over it, Commie $hitheads.
edit: the phalloscraping primitive's story is, of course, Bouncy

I welcome Teh Wun's minions to try. My bugout position is an island in the middle of a lake in the Rocky Mountains. Only way they could get enough jack-boots on the ground to give me a hard time is by boat or chopper (and the island is forested enough that I wouldn't recommend chopper), and there's a minimum of a mile of open water for me to spot them and deal with them on any approach.
They may be able to take my liberty from me, but by the time that happens, I expect to make myself the most expensive piece of meat they ever butchered.

I swear...where in the holy hell do they think they are going to get all these "qualified" stormtroopers to do "no-knocks"? Them? The chickensh*t college kids that I see everyday? See Dummies, this is what happens when you perpetuate a culture of appeasement at any cost...

31. Don't have either so no concern to me
Freedom, I don't need it so why should you?
-
Even aside from being a fundamentally silly idea in the first place, I don't know where 'They' would find anyone rash and suicidal enough to try either one around here.

Now all you need is a Patriot Battery and your all set

Obama already has that covered: Special army unit set to deploy before November elections (http://www.examiner.com/x-37620-Conservative-Examiner~y2010m4d13-Special-army-unit-ready-to-be-deployed-on-American-soil-just-before-Nov-elections). Used to be the 1st Brigade Combat Team. Now available for civil unrest and crowd control. Coming to a voting booth or Tea Party near you. Posse comitatus be damned. But we hardly have a constitution any more. Why not turn our own military against us.

Cindie, that has been blown 'way out of proportion, a unit that size is only sufficient to do something like regain control of one single local disaster at a time, like New Orleans during Katrina (And actually would be very stretched to do even that, if as in NOLA the civilian law enforcement agencies have gone catatonic), and that's all that particular mission is really intended to address. Even plussed up with all its service support attachments, a BCT is only around 5,000 guys, which is a fraction of the total law enforcement personnel establishment of any large metro area.
It's a favorite blogger bogeyman, but the actual mission for which forces are designated is a valid one.

The stories I read said 80,000 soldiers/support

The entire active strength of the regular Army is under 500,000, a third of which is deployed and a third of which is either getting ready to deploy or refitting after a deployment. The idea that we can commit 80,000 troops to anything extra is basically total bullshit.
