A candid President Obama vowed Thursday evening that he would continue to reach out to Republicans and take their ideas into consideration, even as he took a light jab at some of his conservative critics in the Tea Party movement.
The president, speaking a Democratic fundraiser in Miami, urged lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to pass financial regulatory reform and warned them not to bow to pressure from firms and lobbyists trying to kill the legislation.
"We should all agree that we've got to pass common-sense Wall Street reform," he told the crowd of 1,000 at Thursday's DNC fundraiser, where tickets ranged from $250 to $1,250 a pop. Republicans have argued that the Democrats financial overhaul could lead to more bank bailouts rather than prevent them.
Obama also credited his signature economic recovery package with putting more than two million Americans back to work and with cutting taxes for families, small businesses and students. And he singled out the anti-tax tea party movement that fanned out across the country Thursday to hold demonstrations and rallies marking Tax Day.
"I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies about taxes," the president said, noting the numerous tax cuts pushed by his administration. "You would think they'd be saying thank you."

You have to ask?

"You would think they'd be saying thank you."
No words aside from absolute amazement over the ego of this guy.
-
He truly doesn't get it does he?
How could he?
He is a ****ing idiot!
Seriously - listen to Rush OR YOUR OWN HEAD for one single day and this interloper, via being directed by his Reverend Wright Black Panther II commies and communist czar advisers is on a direct path to financially destroying this nation. When it comes to thinking for his-self on his own two feet, he mumbles, stutters, and rambles off the topic.
Funny, no actually SCARY thing is all of the little Eichmann DUmmys in this nation continue to support him.
They see NOTHING wrong with the Jug-Eared DUmmy.
As the entire nation has now seen the truth about the socialist T-H-U-G unions and union employees (no, not workers, employees), they are financially RAPING the state coffers with their dual coverage pensions AND retirement funding while the state is laying off state police and other safety related personnel so they can continue to fund the union pensions. Californication alone has OVER 550 BILLION in un-funded pensions on its back.
Just look at every state in the union that is in the worst financial failures: EVERY ONE OF THEM ARE BLUE STATES!

noting the numerous tax cuts pushed by his administration
Which ones would those be, President ****stick? Funny, but my taxes didn't go down last year, they're not going to go down this year, and when the Bush tax cuts expire in January, my 2011 taxes are going to go through the roof!
You've increased my tax burden with reckless spending, proposing cap-and-trade (again!) and your disaster of a healthcare bill.
Please, Barruh, I'm begging you--show me where my taxes have been cut.
-
My jaw dropped when I heard this, this morning. What does he think the reaction will be, exactly? He's such a douchebag, I cannot stand our DUmmie in chief.
-
I don't know if my blood pressure will be able to stand this crap 'til 2012. I see 'red' (in more ways than one) everytime he shows his face on tv -- which is every FREAKING day, it seems! :banghead:

Dear Leader has no class at all, which plays right into his kook base.

Fixt.

He truly doesn't get it does he?
He doesn't have a ****ing clue. What is even more scary is he believes all his lies.

Why does Obama always get in the gutter and go out of his way to offend, confront or attack the citizens of this country? Bush never did this shit. I believe Obama is trying to divide this country or his skin is so thin it's transparent. Probably both.

BEG, it's actually an exhibition of his political naivete, he has always been a 'Fortunate son' or hand-picked winner backed by greater forces (I.e., a tool), and he does not understand that he is in an open and uncontrolled environment as President. His basic failure to understand that shows in many ways, but this constant lowering of himself to deliver cheap shots at people who love to engage him on that level is the most obvious one.
To paraphrase one of my favorite movie lines ever, from Excalibur, "It will stand against him in battle."

It's one of the failings of trying to be all things to all people, and being naive/inexperienced to not rely on those around you. Obama, were he a better LEADER, would leave the attack-dog crap to guys like Rahm, et al. But I think you're right on the count that he is in fact a VERY thin-skinned person.
-
He keeps underscoring just how un-pResidential he is.

Oh! Thaaat's what he meant by "transparency!" :banghead:

He is basically an inner city street thug from Chicago.

I am just wondering what other damages he is going to do in the next 2 years

He is basically an inner city street thug from Chicago.
No, MEchelle had to teach him how to 'act black'. He spewed the 'black power' activist crap to them just long enough to get what he needed, then Adios. He won't use them again until 2012, when suddenly he 'grew up black, poor, and repressed.' Obama's a fraud, in every aspect.
ANDERSON:...I mean, don't forget: he wasn't connected to anybody in Chicago. She's the person who connected him through her — the law firm she worked with, through her job through city hall when she worked for Mayor Daley. And she's the guy — she's the person who taught him how to speak to African-American audiences. Because he was considered to be rather stiff.

Rush nailed Bubba, Hillary, and BO yesterday. He is so right again. These stinking bastard liberal/progressive/Marxists are trying to intimidate the Tea Party with their constant attacks and the scummy MSM is pitching in too. This better back fire on them big time.
HILLARY 2003 (screeching): I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic, and we should stand up and say, "WE ARE AMERICANS AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DEBATE AND DISAGREE WITH ANY ADMINISTRATION!"
RUSH: She sounds angrier than any tea party person I have ever heard. That is shocking. For those of you who can hear -- heh -- I apologize. Now, that's a shock to the system. But that's Mrs. Clinton. "We have a right do disagree! (harpy nagging)." I don't hear any tea party people talking that way. So all this outrage is selective and all of this is being orchestrated by people who know that they are in the minority, attempting to quell opposition to this regime by virtue of intimidation. In the process, Mr. President, Mr. Clinton -- unwittingly or purposely I'll give you the benefit of the doubt -- with this comment, you have just set the stage for violence in this country. Any future acts of violence are on your shoulders, Mr. Clinton. You just gave the kooks in this country an excuse to go be violent. Nobody on the right's doing this. Nobody in talk radio is advocating anything of the sort that you are predicting. You, sir, are predicting it. Maybe the regime wants something like that to happen. I wouldn't doubt it.

Doubt it. He'll see the losses in the midterms as a necessary step--means to an ends, as it were. He won't be deterred by the Democrat losses, even if both the House and Senate flip back to the GOP (unlikely at best).

He has as much as said that he expects losses during the mid terms. He and Pelosi both thought the Dims should vote for health care even if their constituencies were against the bill. The One's Legacy is more important than a mere congressman keeping their job or doing the will of the people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't 99% of the tax code applicable for 2009 returns established in 2008 or before, when Obama was NOT President...?
:hammer:

And when that happens...he'll just take out his pen and sign executive orders to get what he wants and can no longer get Constitutionally.
-
This all works in our favor. I hope he keeps up the jabs. He's due for a Fox jab soon.
-

That is unfortunately probably very true.

I've got to give 0 and the dimcratics credit. I paid less taxes this year than last. They did it, however, by creating an environment in which my actual income is a fraction of what it was in previous years.

Yeah me too. BO and friends like to claim they reduced taxes on the middle class. That is true. They did it by reducing our income. So, of course we paid less in taxes.
The MSM mimics BO with this claim because they are too stupid to understand that when ones income is lower due to a poor economy caused by BO's socialist policies, they naturally will pay less in taxes.
