Is there any meaningful difference between the teabaggers and klanners?
The wearing of sheets - or not - is not a meaningful difference.
The presence of a few non white people is not a significant difference.
I see as a BIG similarity the notion of "taking back my country". It is little different than seeing the country as a white nation.
Listening to clips from the SRLC tells me that the Southern Strategy is back.

1. Teabaggers are more devious.
The Klan makes no bones about their hatred. The Tea Partiers are trying to disguise their hatred as patriotism/freedom/whatever. Other than that, they're the same.

13. I agree with this 1000% they are sneakier and hide their racism
AND their prejudice against people who don't bow down to republicans.

8.
They're immensely different from the Klan, as they're a deliberate product of Freedom Works & Fox News, who's purpose is to harass and distract the Liberal Majority from governance.

24. Stop it. This kind of bullshit is stupid.
I don't like the knee jerk teabaggers much, if at all.
But comparing them to the Klan says worse things about you than it does about them.

35. Because it shows how desperate and ignorant you are to smear people
The Tea Party group is generating support of people who are angry.
They;re losing their jobs. Their pensions. Their savings. Their homes. THeir health care.
Everything.
They are losing their security.
They are frightened and angry.
The sad thing is that the right wing is tapping into this very important development. Traditionally, these people should turn to Democrats. But the Democrats have been so busy licking the balls of the corporations that are causing Americans to lose their jobs, pensions, savings, homes and health care, that they aren't even trying to reach out to these people.
Sure, there are some racists among them. Sure there are a bunch of idiots who've been brainwashed by hate monger radio.
But any American in this day and age who joins the Klan is a completely different animal. Anyone who joins the Klan, IMO, is engaging in violence against society.
The Teabaggers are protesting. They aren't killing or threatening to kill. Some of them go to far. Just like people who go to protests I have joined. Sometimes, people go too far.
But don't confuse a protest movement with the Klan, simply because you disagree with them, politically.

36. And they're blaming the black president
Put your thinking cap on.

I'm going to be honest here -Stinky - you Democrats need to get a new trick.
You have been using the 'RACIST !!!11!!1' message since the Democratic primaries, and it has gotten old and tired. The irony is you Democrats have probably burnt the meaning of racist out, and like the tale of The Boy Who Cried Wolf, it no longer gets attention from anyone.
Funny, the only time I hear mention of Dear leader's race is by the racist at Skin's island, like you just did hubs2.That's right. His nationality and religion, both of which he's been desperate to conceal, are a lot more significant.
