And a Happy Easter to all my fellow Cavers out there!
The Heiress had to be prompted to find some of the eggs we colored for her. Now, she's watching Easter with Max & Ruby as I type this. Then, it's off to get ready to go to 11 AM Mass for 10 AM to try to find parking, then go in to practice a couple of things before Mass with the rest of the choir. Last night, the Thompson "Alleluia" came out good, I think. Everyone else seemed to be too tired to comment (we didn't get out until 11 PM). "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today" sounded good at full volume. As I told the former choir director last year, it's a joyous song, and it needs to be sung forte. (I have no problem doing this.) It starts the Mass today--after the seven-minute prelude of "Because He Lives." Someday, I want to do the male lead on that piece, but since the tenor that does it now is so good on it, I think I'll sit back and enjoy it.
We're going to my parents' after Mass, and they're having dinner at 4 PM. I want to be able to see the MLB season opener tonight on ESPN. Shouldn't be too hard to stay awake.

Truly he is risen!
I just got home from the Easter service about 20 minutes ago (it is 4:20 AM here in California) Midnight Easter services are the best, especially with a feast afterwards :-)

I walked over to the beach where a Cross was erected and watched the Sun rise as we prayed. There were about 100 people there. Later today me and about 10 guys from the Base are going to the Shands Pediatric Burn Unit with food and candy for the tykes. They might not be able to eat the ham and all the fixings we'll take but maybe the nurses who care for them might. We're gonna do an Easter Egg hunt for them too. A few can be in wheelchairs so we'll wheel them around and we'll hunt for the eggs we'll hide in the Ward. There's 1 tyke in ICU on machines and we're gonna take an egg to her and kneel and pray for her.

Hallelujah, indeed!

Mass was beautiful this morning and it is a most beautiful Easter morning here in East Tennessee!!! I can't remember when we've had such beautiful weather on Easter.
Have a glorious Easter, Everyone.....may peace be with you all.
CM....what a wonderful thing for you and your buddies to go do this afternoon. You will bring joy to the children and much appreciation from the staff. May God bless all of you and again thank you for your service. :hi5:

My power just came back on. Went out at 1:30 PM yesterday. I'm watching "The Greatest Story Ever Told" on DVD.

Happy Easter to all. We had a lovely day shared with the family. It was so much fun watching how much the little kids loved running around. Our little grandson (16 months) was happy going up the steps at my sster's. t was a game wth his mommy and daddy having to go up and pull him down. He and the little girl my niece adopted from China (4 years old) were running all over.
