It's more common than you might think in both cats and dogs. You can tell when they're dreaming especially "chasing food" type dreams.

You kiddin me?  My dog HOWLS in his sleep, to say nothing of the "running".  It ain't no feet twitching, either.

I have one that chirps in her sleep. Sounds just like a baby bird.

2 that snore.

2 that like to sleep under the covers.

All 4 sleep on the bed with us.  :whatever:

My cat does that all the time.

What is even funnier is that when he is sitting watching birds, he makes a weird sound that I swear is him trying to imitate bird calls  :-)
